#DualSpec No not giving up

OK so you’re not discussing it in good faith because you didn’t really think it through. Roger.

If someone asked me to figure out a respectful way to add action bar profiles to the game, that’s pretty much how I’d do it. You would get your way, so why complain.

You really can’t see how you’ve hijacked this thread…truly?

Because I would still have to set up my talents? Again, this is made irrelevant by actual dual spec, which does exactly what I’m suggesting. You’re now separating dual spec into 4 distinct things:

  • inconvenience for travel to trainer
  • 50g respec fee
  • having to set up bars
  • having to reselect talents

So you’re moving the target from 2 factors of dual spec, to 3, now to 4.

You’re only ok with removing 25% of the inconvenience of what dual spec solves. Do you see how your story has evolved as I have asked for further clarification? This is a great discussion.

The irony is killing me

The 50g respec makes up like 99% of reason people want it, with traveling, action bars, and talent picking making up maybe fractions of that last %.

Given this, all of those other elements are negligible elements of the conversation, and you trying to act like they represent a quarter each of the “benefits” afforded by the dual spec feature is blatant idiocy.

Ah, so another word you have no idea the meaning of, I’m growing less and less surprised.

Remember when Zipzo used Battle Chicken not being nerfed as a cornerstone of his/her argument about no changes or faithful recreation or whatever?

Well?

They nerfed one element of it that was exploitative and unique to discovered meta-elements of TBCC. The chicken, IMO, is still faithful to the way it was used in original TBC.

Again, for the gazillionth time, I don’t care about changes, just that they are respectful/faithful to the original vision.

Dual spec being in the game unfortunately would not be respectful to the original vision literally not wanting to have dual spec in the game.

So when you said that the ongoing development of TBCC wasn’t real because battle chicken hadn’t been nerfed, you were just wrong.

Can you admit that you were wrong? Maybe you’re wrong about ongoing development based on community feedback too.

I never said this, I simply used it as an example to show how authenticity matters to Blizz.

It still stands as an example of that, whether they tweaked it or not.

No because you’ve failed to point out anything where I’m wrong so why would I.

The chicken ‘nerf’ was a byproduct of them fixing another issue with mobs ignoring their “initial cooldown” on certain spells, such as Illidan’s enrage in phase 5.

They didn’t decide to break the chicken intentionally, it just happened as a result of another fix and they decided not to backwards engineer a way to return the chickens to a guaranteed proc.

Not to mention that the guaranteed squawk behavior was not possible in the later patches of TBC, so this change is in fact one that aims to make the game more of an authentic experience.

The coincidence is absolutely too much to believe.

What other mobs were affected? I don’t believe that Illidan and the Battle Chicken were the only ones, and the fact that they have been discussing internally how to solve the chicken problem for months and a ‘fix’ to Illidan solved their problem giving them a scapegoat for the nerf is a huge joke.

This was definitely not a ‘hmm that’s interesting, oh well’ situation. They would have figured out the guaranteed proc mechanic months ago when discussing how to nerf it and said something, not surprised the community with it after an Illidan fix.

If they believe it to be intended consequences of a bug, they should provide a list of more interactions that were solved by the fix, instead of just Illidan and the chicken. Silly stuff.

Is this where they start to work on adding dual specs in TBC or nah?

And here I was enjoying this topic not being on the front page for a while…
