Dual wielding for Survival please?

Since Blizzard has been in such a charitable mood lately, any chance on letting survival dual wield please? Sylvanas is out there with twin daggers and I really like how it looks. Please and thank you.

She’s also out there with a pretty cool bow.

Wouldn’t they always have to be scimitars? And a lot of brooding. Should be a passive.

It comes with a nice quiver too. It’s unfortunate that getting it as survival provides no real benefit besides a transmog, but at least my survival alts give me more chances to loot it.

Dualwield wrecks stuff like harpoon, doesn’t really work thematically. And with so many ranged abilities, it doesn’t really make sense

Plus sylvanas is a dark ranger banshee. Since we no longer have ranged survival like her, eh, I don’t see it happening

Agreed. I like the idea of a dwarf ranger with twin hatchets. Plus survival could use just a tad more speed in combat and maybe giving us some combat options that went toward dual wield would help.

You knew it would be coming to this thread so I just beat someone else to the punch.

I honestly don’t think it would conflict with anything. It seems to me that survival is supposed to be a more mobile guerrilla fighter/ survivalist and twin weapons seems more fitting than a two hand.

Dual wield works better thematically then a polearm does.

Harpoon already has a glyph to change it. Simply add another.

Makes much more sense throwing a sword/dagger than it does a halberd.

ETA: Survival initially had a 5 yard range on autoattacks, raptor strike, etc. Hence the pole arm. Since they removed that range, changing to dagger/sword/hatchet makes more sense.

Ikr. It would be awesome if we had both of em equipped. Lots of ranged, but still primarily melee spec. (pretty much what we have now, but with changed visual style)
(Though I myself would like a single one handed weapon instead)

The thing is, you already have a polearm. Looking to change the theme of the spec. Whether or not you agree, the spec is built around it now. It hasn’t returned to a ranged spec even though there is outcry, making it dual wield is just a waste of resources now

Well, glad you’re here to allocate blizzard’s resources.

Did you whine on the DK threads, too?

No, but being the outstanding problems inside all the hunter specs, your priorities are a bit askew

Harpoon is the only thing the spec has that implies a spear, and it doesn’t lock the spec into using one. The spec also uses a crossbow without actually equipping one, and it also uses staves. It’s not like it would take an enormous amount of resources to change it to dual wielding.

Of course, it should just be a ranged spec.

It’s no priority of mine, I couldn’t give a rats, tbh.

Was just pointing out it could easily be done, and is more thematical than actually using a polearm.

The polearm is legacy of when survival had “ranged” melee attacks.

When they removed the ranged melee attacks, they were lazy, and left it as polearm.

They eventually did it for ww monks and frost dks, they even gave fury wars their single hands back. Besides, there is nothing in survival that’s based around two hands. Harpoon is a separate item, you’re not throwing your equipped weapon at someone and don’t forget the crossbow for serpent sting and kill shot.

Well at that point I’d rather they just went back full ranged and got rid of this resource waste lol. And the other classes are doing better representation wise than survival. Of heroic and mythic raiders there were/are, less than 100 actively pushing as of about a month ago when the data was released. Now In pvp it is some more popular but still low.

Would just rather see the hunter devs spend more time on marks/bm/rsurviv, than to keep working on IONS love child

It’s a fun spec, and makes a good change when you feel like smashing things in the face.

It just needs some love.

That’s what I really like about it. I love that you can switch from ranged to melee. For questing and smaller encounters, I like playing melee but for big encounters, I enjoy ranged much more. Of course you can’t really do that if you play the class seriously but for casual players like myself, it’s nice to just change specs on the fly, equip my other weapon, and have an entirely different style of play.

If only BM/MM could DPS in melee :frowning:
