Yup, same difference.
Who says I even play this mage on the same server as my main?
Priceless ignorance from people who hate dual spec
Just tell him it’s your avatar and and that if he’s unhappy, it isn’t your concern.
Then add an emoji.

Winner
I love how people just expect people to farm gold 24/7, raid, pvp, dungeon grind and totally ignore everyday real life crap.
Not really, still done tanking heroics. As are many many tanks at this point.
Kinda like this guy, same thing from a dual spec lover.
I don’t hate dual spec, it just doesn’t belong on TBC.
Nope shonenmc, you just realized how much effort it takes to play an old school RPG and want that changed. Never mind the others who actually wanted to play the game without all the later retail additions. You must think yourself more important than them eh?
Really? Here I thought gear changing to match your spec, tri spec, tanking getting easier through simplification, lfd, extra satchel loot with rare items in it, and making aggro virtually impossible to lose had a far bigger effect than just dual spec did on its own. But I guess to you dual spec had a far bigger impact. Wasn’t like most people used it for a pvp spec and a pve spec, oh wait…
History shows blizzard had to make a dozen other changes to get the queue time down to what it is now, which is still about 20-30 min in retail.
I think history supports the fact that dual spec did not fix the tank shortage. And since the claim this thread is making is that it will fix the tank shortage I’m still waiting on hard evidence of that. Because the evidence I see is dual spec didn’t fix it, it didn’t even make a noticeable impact considering wait times in wrath were still about an hour long if you didn’t have a tank. And seeing as blizzard has decided that 1+ hour queue time is considered unacceptable for pvp, we can tell that THEY don’t consider the 1 hour wait time from wrath lfd to be a success even after dual spec. Which is why they added a dozen other changes over time to try and fix it.
Dual spec does not fix the tank shortage.
Personally I think dual spec is convenient. That doesn’t mean I think it should be added though.
Dual spec isn’t a retail feature.
Now your trying to compare graphics to gameplay, wow…
It was in wrath when it was current, thus retail feature.
So, Wrath = Retail?
Now you’re moving the goalpost, wow…
Really, they don’t even remember where the goal posts started before they were moved a dozen times.
I mean, way back when, you established he was just lying about everything anyway. Not sure why you’re still engaging as if that’s changed.
Then again, he is bumping the thread…
You aren’t very good at feigning obtuse are you?
The goalposts have always been GAMEPLAY and the effects change have on it. Dual spec effects gameplay because they no longer feel a need to farm gold to change specs regularly because their 2 specs with dual spec cover the majority of what they would want to do in wow. Which is pvp, and pve. Or for the hard-core pve guilds, 2 pve specs.
We have seen how dual spec effected people. Most people got a pvp spec and a pve spec. The hard-core raiders went with 2 pve specs one focused on single target, the other on aoe, or burst vs sustained damage. The effects of dual spec did very little to fix the tank shortage, to the point blizzard has made a dozen other changes to try and fix it. And only now is the queue times down to about 25 min.
Thanks for keeping all these Dual Spec threads bumped. I’m feeling very optimistic with you on our side.
Hmm, this looks like an evasion.
People need to realise that there’s not a Tank shortage of any sort. Almost every Warrior main from Classic who stayed Warrior main in TBC is a tank or is at least able to/has a set.
The shortage is of tanks who specifically want to do the dungeons you do. 99% of Tank mains will run with Guild/Friend groups since they know they’re playing with reliable people. It’s a pain in the a** to tank for pugs who cant tell a skull from a moon and have no concept of Threat or a Threat meter.
Dual-spec doesn’t change that fact. People who don’t tank won’t miraculously become convinced they should learn how to and people who do tank will still much prefer to tank with guilds/friends, they’ll just have an easier time swapping back to farm/pvp spec.
It wouldn’t be an “either or” situation. What matter is if there’s significant change. Apparently folks are touting the claim that the change will not be significant because of Retail. Unfortunately, I have not seen anyone show evidence for this so I suppose it’s to be taken at face value (like most claims on these forums).
