Before classic-wow 2 years ago. I thought the same, but after seeing how the players behaved, I realized that they are not the tools. If not, we the players who change.
But it is like saying that the gamer chair where I sit every day “makes me evil in the forums” or “I am a terrible tank in the game because the table where I put the computer controls my mind and makes me play badly”
The things that came in retail changed the WoW player base. We used to be nice and talk in dungeons but along came a handy dandy teleport button that put you with random people on random servers you’ll never see again. It is absolutely true that the players changed due to the things that came in retail over time. Things that were seen as awesome at first had unforeseen consequences. You fail to realize that we can both be right. It’s not either or. It’s both.
For all these people against duel spec and on the no changes bandwagon, are you using addons that were not in the original TBC?
I’ll answer that question, it’s a yes. Delete all those QoL addons that are making your experience that much better.
When people talk about how it’s a gold sink and would ruin the economy, what about the TSM addon that does everything for you to make a huge profit margin without doing anything?
Duel spec was needed in the OG TBC and needed now. Would make the game so much more fun for me and many others.
No the internet tough guy is the one who says no changes without any discussions and proceeds to insult. You know what they meant but you choose to send a petty response. Nothing wrong with having an opinion and wanting to dismiss the trolls.
The anti-dual speccers keep bringing up this argument, “ohhh your choices matter your choices matter”…no they don’t you can literally pay 50g to change them any time you want, as many times as you want
lmao
have fun spamming “LF tank” for an hour because no dual spec
Glad you think it’s a dumb take, but to me it’s comparable.
Yes there were addons available to us back then, but not to this extent. Adding in duel spec just makes QoL so much better for many people.
People are making exponentially more gold the ever before. There are many addons that help with this gold making. Leveling has been turned into a joke with Questie. (That is a huge QoL change for TBC)
I don’t spam in chat. Even as DPS I don’t spam in chat. There’s a little thing called /who where you can actually whisper people. Only idiots spam endlessly in chat.
It’s also a response to two sides that can’t agree on a topic. If one person wants dual-spec and lays out their points and 2nd person doesn’t want dual-spec and lays out their points and neither side agrees with the points the other lays out or it doesn’t change their opinion as those points are not as strong as their own in their opinion. Which in that case it’s the opt of “keep it the same as it was originally” which would mean no dual-spec in TBC but having dual-spec as part of the game in Wrath.
Many of those against dual-spec would prefer it not even be in wrath but as a point of impasse the agreement has to come down to just the same progression that was done originally.
On retail DPS queues and healer queues are also really long in comparison to tanks who always get an instant queue. Thinking that adding dual-spec will change this reality is flawed due to the underlying issues.
Tanking is the most demanding role (Many don’t want to role a tank or healer as they don’t want that level of responsibiltiy)
Raid comps don’t match dungeon comps (Dungeons require a 1:1:3 ratio while raids generally are a 3:6:16)
Also people who say “choices matter” and then saying “paying 50g can change it means there is no matter to your choices” Well I mean if gold had 0 value then yes that would be true. However you now have a choice between spending 50g to respec or spending that 50g on something else in the game. That right there is a choice!
