Dual Spec is NOT a QOL Change

Dual spec is a massive gameplay change that while it could make it easier to respec, it is absolutely not just a Quality of Life change as I’ve heard people keep trying to say.

An example of a QOL change is something like, we added the keyring so all of your keys are in there and no longer take up inventory slots.

A QOL change for respeccing might be reducing the cost or just allowing it to save your bars between specs, with no other changes whatsoever.

Pretending that just copy/pasting Dual Spec into Classic Vanilla is just a QOL change, or claiming that it has no downsides at all is straight up dishonest when it has a massive impact on the gameplay of Vanilla itself.

Nah its HUGE for tanks and healers.

And also for pvp’rs who are forced to raid for gear to pvp.

There are two types of players who want dual spec.

Players who want to PVP and PVE
Players who otherwise would not have tanked or healed

Yes it does.
Of course the guy who has never rolled a healer or tank thinks dual spec isn’t necessary.
Healers shouldn’t have a 100g (minimum) tax on playing the game outside of raid.
Being able to do BGs with the fellas after raid shouldn’t have a 100g (minimum) tax.

More players playing the game more than just raid logging is objectively good for the game.

There’s tons and tons of little things that change when dual spec is added to the game. It’s hard to quantify them all. The best way to put it is it makes players think about their characters very differently. A character who can change between a PvP and PvE spec at will is inherently a LOT more powerful. All of this changes the way the game feels, and thus removes a LOT (and for me, ALL) of the classic energy

I will not, EVER, play a version of WoW that has dual spec.

You could always change between PvE and PvP spec

It just cost 50g, which we all paid all the time

I am honestly surprised that dual spec is considered this controversial. The argument against it is simply silly, but people are entitled to that opinion. I guess dual spec is bad for the sweats and good for the dads? Dunno.

Adding dual spec only enables the toxic parsing culture. Everyone will be expected to run cookie cutter meta builds for any content they do from that point on.

That is why you join a likeminded guild and make friends with people who don’t play a certain way. Really isn’t that difficult. The game isn’t dictating how we play because of a few changes, so do your own thing with it.

Welcome to classic. Dual spec is coming. Don’t purchase it if you want your challenge. The rest of us will be happy to farm freely without the 100g per swap tax.
