Dual Spec in Classic TBC?

Dual specialization comes in wotlk 3.1, a lot of tbc private servers added dual spec even though they are “blizz-like” realms. Dual spec in TBC yay or nay?

I would say yes to this since it was in prepatch, but no prepatch talents, so i am a huge hypocrite…

Deep down we all want a reason for dual spec in tbc :frowning:

respec cost still 50g, i cant remember…

Correct. So it won’t be in TBC as it does not belong there just as 41 point talents don’t belong in vanilla.

That’s hilarious. “Blizz-like” lol. Yeah they’re not Blizz like if they’re adding dual spec.

I’d say no as your spec carried weight on your server as you were known as a bear tank, or known as a holy paladin.

While I do love duel spec I think this would be alien to the spirit of tbc imo.

Well it was technically in TBC, however it was just for a very brief time at the very end.

As someone that wants a few changes as possible I would say no.

As someone that plays a paladin I would say F*** YES! Lol

Color me a hypocrite, but I’d be down 100% for dual spec in Classic TBC.

same boat as you… Going to play a belf pally in TBC, would like to be able to heal and tank in raid (which is inherently not fair to pures, lol)

Yeah, 41 point talents were “technically” in vanilla, but those were obviously not vanilla talents. Patch 2.0 is TBC. Patch 1.12 is vanilla. Patch 3.0 is WotLK. Patch 2.4 is TBC.

Dual spec is not part of TBC.

do you remember the max respec cost?

I think damn near everyone would love for that. Even at the Wotlk 1000g price on a TBC economy is well worth it. Heck not trying to give ideas but even 5000g would be worth it in a TBC economy or even a Vanilla Classic economy. Once you have it you are DONE!

50 gold is max respec cost

I don’t think it was ever raised from 50g, which is chump change in TBC.

this will probably be pretty easy now that we know how to make gold…

Or buy it. :rimshot:

In your opinion this is correct.

You can argue semantics all you want. Yeah 41 point talents were designed for TBC not vanilla, but they were absolutely in vanilla. For what… 2 weeks? That’s still vanilla, though it’s not the spirit of vanilla I would agree, as I would also agree 41 point talents should not (and thankfully are not) in Classic.

However those were huge game play changing talents. Dual spec is not a gameplay change, it’s a quality of life change. In Classic people gear out for multiple specs, and many play multiple specs. We just have to spend extra gold for that. With dual spec you do the same thing just without requiring paying 50g each time.

Comparing a complete revamp of class balancing, talent systems, and new abilities added to simply not having to pay for respeccing is naive and disingenuous at best.

just bring on TBC Classic. Tired of all the broken/lacking class specs & piss-poor gear itemization of Vanilla Classic.

As good intentioned Nochanges is it doesn’t solve the issue of player caused exploitation and abuse in which I hope TBC Classic is willing to learn from Van Classics nochanges

It’s an opinion shared by Blizzard who is the authority on the matter as indicated by how Classic was implemented.

Expansion pre-patches are basically a bar spanning about a two week period which marks the boundary between one expansion and the next. What lies in the middle is no-man’s-land.

The same was said in debates on adding it to vanilla Classic. At the end of the day it’s just not part of TBC, plain and simple.

If you want to argue that it should be in TBC for some other reason, then fine. But let’s not pretend it was part of TBC. It wasn’t.

Edit:

Ok I actually looked into this. Dual talents were not added in the WotLK pre-patch. It was added in patch 3.1, the Ulduar patch.

The way i see it, whatever number is at the start of the patch, is what the version of wow it is.
If it starts with a 2, its tbc.
2.0 is technically tbc with no access to outland and levels past 60, the same as 3.0 is wrath with no access to northrend and levels past 70.
