Fight me XD
You know, I agree. I really liked the witch cult stuff and all the other assorted creepiness. That kind of thing is right up my alley.
They both have their charms. Though I’ll never forget the first time I did the Drustvar starting quest in Fallhaven, felt pretty creepy for sure.
Post-Cata Duskwood, you would be correct.
Pre-Cata Duskwood, you’re high.
I mean to be fair both the two zones are almost 10 years apart
Disagreed.
I think Drustvar is the best BfA zone, but in general I greatly dislike the overly generic traditional “evil witch with big nose, green skin, pointy hat” thing and don’t feel it fits in well with Warcraft. The concept of the Drust is kinda neat, but those generic witches get just as much focus and it bugs me.
Duskwood is -also- a little generic with the zombies and werewolves, but those both fit with Warcraft better I think.
They both have a solid atmosphere though. I prefer Duskwood because it has more of a human tint to it whereas Drustvar, for the most part, feels more monstrous, but at the end of the day they’re both decent.
When you could kite Stiches from Duskwood to Goldshire, murdering every unsuspecting low level player and NPCs. They didn’t have max level Elite Guards hanging around everywhere, Stitches would slaughter all the guards too!
I hate both of em, so whatever floats your boat.
Saved me some typing.
Thanks
I didn’t think it was creepy at all
round 1…fight…Eveara wins…fatality.
Drustvar is just duskwood 2.0. It should be better.
With that said duskwood created a feeling of excitement and dread that seeing something for the first time only can.
They’re both dull and uninteresting zones without much going on, so I suspect you’re probably right, but I don’t think that’s anything to be proud of.
I’ve done drustvqr like 7 times and it’s awesome I love killing the witches!!
In a world in which we have mages and warlocks, the fight about witches is just kind of weird to me.
But I do like Drustvar.
I hate that term generic. So what if it is? It doesnt take away from how awesome it is. I guess for some people it does.
To me, Drustvar seemed like a modern-day Duskwood; how it could have been if Blizz had all their technology, art assets, etc, back then.
Generic ideas aren’t automatically bad in entertainment, but it definitely comes across as “low effort”, and it’s hard for me to rate something highly if it comes across as low effort.
That said, it’s not the lack of effort that bugs me necessarily, especially since in this case it’s mostly just the aesthetic, but it’s the way I typically associate that style of “witch” with storybooks. As in fairy tales. Just doesn’t seem fitting to throw largely unaltered fairy tale witches into WoW. It’s also worth noting that the whole “she’s a witch!” plot stretches my suspension of disbelief a bit too far for a universe where mages are seemingly incredibly common, among other forms of magic users that are comparably common.
I’m gonna need two bolters for this heresy!
…I would also throw in a chainsword and a flamethrower, just to be sure…
…or maybe just exterminatus from orbit?
