Drustvar Flight Paths - Please never do this again!

Drustvar is the absolute worst zone to be in with an Alliance alt, unless you did a bunch of questing there with them.
It seems like half the flight paths are locked behind questing. Sadly the whistle ignores this if you’ve used the BoA Flight map from the 7th legion/honorbound rep vendors.
Every time I’m in Drustvar on my Alliance alt I end up at one or more flight paths I can’t actually use.
I can understand the outpost thing in enemy territory, but why have locked flight paths in friendly territory?
Watchman’s Rise? nope can’t use that one without questing.
Fallhaven? nope can’t use that one without questing.
Falconhurst? nope can’t use that one without questing.
Anyport? nope can’t use that one without questing.

Horde have some locked flight paths as well in friendly territory, but Drustvar takes the cake for least alt friendly zone, imo.
Please never do this again when designing a zone!

Buy the scouting map on a toon that’s done pathfinder part 1. It teaches you the flight points for both outposts on the enemy continent, and for those on your home continent.

Yeah I find it annoying as well. I like to try to pick up fps as I wander through a zone and I hate seeing the symbol on the map only to find out I can’t pick it up yet when I get there lol

That’s actually part of the problem, it “learns” the 4 flight points I mentioned, but when you go to them, either from another flightmaster or with the whistle or simply on foot, you can’t actually use them unless you did the right quests to unlock them.

Nothing is more annoying than the whistle taking you to a place without a flight path.

OK, so do the quests.
What’s the problem here?

The roll out of flight path opening progression doesn’t flow very well in crust are. It’s too much back and forth.

Doing the quest with one character is fine. Requiring the quest to be done on alts is a bit much. Not really a huge deal, but neither is unlocking it for an account once done on one character.

I’ve done them… numerous times on different alts. At a certain point though I would like to skip them on alts - especially the ones at the ends of long chain quests.

To unlock world quests and the flight whistle, you need to be friendly with your three zone’s factions. Doing the quests will get you there.

And this is per character. Each character needs to do this.

So, do the quests, unlocking the flight points.

For alts you shouldnt have to plus using the flight whistle shouldn’t be taking you to flight points you can’t fly out of.

False, you just need to do this requirement once. WQs are unlocked for Alts after you do this once.

WQ’s and the whistle are account wide unlocks.
The Outpost flight points in enemy territory are account wide unlocks.

The friendly flight points in friendly territory are unlocked per character via various quest chains, some quite lengthy.
One example would be the Nazmir flight point for the Horde at Forlorn Ruins. You basically have to do 80%+ of the story to unlock that flight point, on every single character.
Drustvar for the Alliance is just the worst offender because of just how many flight points are locked behind questing per character on Alliance.

We have alternative leveling options in the game, so why would you lock something as basic as flight points behind forced story quests on each individual character?

And then there’s this:

Completely negates the functionality of the whistle when it does this.

Fun fact: This only happens to my Alliance alt. I have never had any of my Horde characters taken to an unusable flight point by the whistle. So kudos to Blizz for breaking the whistle for only one faction.

Still can’t use them until you do the quest chains for them

But all that means is that you can use the ones the OP listed as a destination, but you can’t see the flight master because they are phased. It’s OK if you just want to get there, but the bigger issue is the whistle takes you to a FP you then can’t leave from. I agree it’s stupid.

Just more of that great Blizz design.

You mean having to play the game to open specific quality of life features? The nerve of Blizz expecting people to actually do the content they created!

I agree. I wish I had never used that BoA flight map thing, it is just terrible to use the whistle and get plunked at Anyport and then can’t fly out of there.

That map thing should have actually opened up the flight path not make things worse.

Yeah, I hate that. When leveling a new alliance character, I always pick Drustvar first even though I would rather choose a different area to level instead but I know all the Drustvar flight paths are going to be phased out and it’s going to be a pain in the butt with all the running across the map for a world quest.

Part of the problem is there are 2 flight points that you will not be able to interact with whatsoever unless you have completed the Drustvar story up to a certain point. These Flight points are Watchman’s Rise and Fallhaven (as well as Falconhurst I belive) you can fly to these points or get a flight master’s whistle to them. However you can’t fly outbound from them unless you have done the story for the zone.

That is the issue at hand.
