So I was doing some Drust Archaeology reading all the lore on the artifacts and thought why not a Drust Allied race?
A race of spirits animating wicker men seems like a much more interesting idea than Vulpira for the Horde and they already have a good deal of established lore now.
Except according to Blizz, they arenât. Which makes it even worse.
They are not intended to be a separate race, they are simply variants on Kul Tirans made because Blizzard wanted bigger and smaller models to fit the various NPC roles and add more flavor to the world. They are not biologically different from other humans.
But they are according to Blizzard. Bear in mind every human is of Vrkyul lineage. Kul tirans retaining a beefier larger frame as a result of the Drust resistors joining them and intermingling with them.
The Drust as they are now are bound in service by magic to Gorak Tul. Would be tough to make them an Allied Race without some serious progression in that storyline. Maybe that will happen next expansion, maybe that will happen 10 years from now.
They didnât wipe them all out. There were Drust who joined the Kul Tirans against their own because they didnât care for the lengths they were going to.
The quote I gave you was from a Blizz interview. Iâm guessing Ulfarâs reference to âtheir descendantsâ goes to âKul Tiran descendantsâ and not a mix breed.
