I agree with both.
Dracthyr need to be able to have soar work the exact same way Dragonriding with no caveats.
No CD to the spell, no charges on abilities. It’s as if you got on your mount.
The ONLY thing would be that when you hit the ground you’re running like normal. It would have to work the way it does now where you hit the button and you immediately take off. No increased mount speed while running since that would be weird.
And of course Druid flight form only makes sense. Hopefully it comes out with the rest of the mounts that they’re giving the animations to.

This has to be coming in 10.2 right? The emerald dream stuff I bet will have some druid-specifics along with the Emerald Dreamway portal opening up to 10.2 zone (hopefully)
There is no excuse to not have flight form yet allow flying on a dragon. They need to allow flight form, whether this is classic flying or dragon-riding, I don’t really care. But it’s super insulting that my character simply “forgot” how to shift into a bird.
While this has also been the case in past expansions prior to flying being enabled, we’ve never before been in a situation where flying was enabled in any form without allowing the use of flight form.

If the Dracthyr can’t do this with their Soar racial ability then Druids sure as Fel shouldn’t be able to with Flight Form.

It is weird that BOTH things are benched due to Dragonriding, while it is fun, it ain’t fun to take away a class’ core fantasy of shapeshifting and making it useless (Even if it is hardly a gameplay-breaking thing) while Dracthyr’s Soar is…well, obviously Dragonriding but lacks actual Dragonriding.
Just need to be loud enough to get this through. Just so weird that these are left out.

This. I agree. Evokers should also get some sort of flying perk. It makes sense. But at least an entire form wasn’t rendered mostly useless to you for an expansion. It’s disappointing and frustrating to not be able to use an entire form for my class in current content.

It really sucks that the druid forms are so muted and not more intertwined into the gameplay. I think each form should get it’s own talents and when you shift into that form you switch to those talents.
Also being able to use travel form in the current content should be a given.

Let’s take this further,have the dracrthr from 60 to 70 be transform as they level from wyrmling to full dragon form, that would be interesting.
Because flying has been a problematic issue for designing an interactive and expansive world ever since they were introduced; flying was a good move when we spent upwards of 80% traveling from point A to point B in vanilla
But they changed their design philosophy to be in-line with modern design with TBC as well because the world we were interacting with was no longer rectangular but rather it was circular
Flying hasn’t been “needed” in the game for a long time and proved more problematic in terms of how players use flying, so they tried some other alternatives and dragonflying is their latest attempt … and it has worked so well that the plan is to expand on this type of flying instead as it effectively combats most of the serious issues that flying created in the first place
Considering you are just meming and not actually saying anything besides a meme … there’s not much to respond to; this is stuff that Ghostcrawler talked about close to over a decade ago when he still worked at Blizzard
It ain’t their job to respond to memes, its their job to develop the game (which, to go full circle, means figuring out ways of getting a form of traversability that doesn’t break the game completely ergo … disable old-swimming-flying and enable an interactive and gameplay-based flying)

Dracthyr should be able to dragonride as themselves, and druids should get their own flight form version.

tbh I’m hoping they add Panda Druids more than I’m hoping they add a new “built-in” dragon form, and especially because a “built-in” dragon form for the travel form would probably just use the Dragonriding mechanics which not everyone enjoys
If it’s a choice between the standard owl form (which is regular flying), and a new “dragon” form (presumably using Dragonriding mechanics) I would choose the same old owl form as my daily-driver
