druids could tank with a taunt.
Paladins could tank with a taunt.
Shaman with taunt could tank one hit haha
off-spec d2/t1/t2/t3 sets.
level 60 karazhan.
access to mount hyjal.
emerald dream portals to emerald dream.
worgen area.
and every other area that was unfinished/unused in classic.
if classic+ is what they're talking about they've got plenty of content to finish that they wanted in the original release but ran out of time.
Druids have a taunt though

The issue with druid/pally tanking was never taunt or threat, they just lacked the survivability they needed.

That is incorrect, with 1.12 talents pallys and druids are perfect tanks, but the lack of a taunt for pallys mean they are limited to dungeons only, or some rare cases where aoe tanking is needed, but they are the best dungeon tanks in the game hands down.

95% of vanilla raid bosses are TAUNT IMMUNE.
Remind me how having a taunt is gonna help paladin tank the T1 (all bosses immune to taunt), T2 (all bosses immune to taunt), T2.5 (All bosses immune to taunt), T3 (Almost all bosses immune to taunt (and the ones that aren't a paladin can't tank due to other reasons).
The ONLY place a taunt is useful is IN Dungeons. Which paladins are already good at tanking.

by 95% he means less than 40% and the rest require a taunt swap
and yes lack of taunt is one of the biggest reasons pallys cant be a MT

No it isn't, lack of mana is why paladins weren't used as MTs. They throttled the DPS far too much compared to warriors. Any of the medium or longer fights took 20+% longer with a paladin tank because when they got low on mana the entire raid was DPS throttled, hard.

Have you ever actually played Vanilla?
And not a TBC backported private server claiming to be vanilla?
You tank swapped via threat throttling and fight mechanics (most tank swap fights have some mechanic that reduces/wipes your threat (such as a knockback or Wing Buffet, Twin-swapping, or the Horseman Marks etc), and the few the don't your only option is to just stop adding threat till your OT surpasses you (Golemagg and Vael are in this catagory)).
it wasn't until TBC AND a later patch of TBC at that (the same one that removed immunities for a bunch of abilities) that Taunt immune bosses became the rarity.
Before that it was the taunt-able bosses that are were almost non-existent.

Also this... Tank swaps weren't via taunt except for the 4 Horsemen and I think one of the 3 drakes in BWL. One big reason guilds kept farming MC was to get a 2nd/3rd TF for the off-tanks because catching up to a MT with one was a cast-iron b--ch.

You're forgetting about crushing blows from a raid boss that only a properly geared warrior tank can handle well.

Pally and druid tanks had less survivability at all levels of content.

Crushing blows are over-hyped by paladin tank wanna-bes. Tanks took crushing blows, healers healed through them, it went with the territory.
In the end, though, the simple fact is tanks were designed to have a hierarchy and the devs have said they don't intend to change the balance so paladins and druids will still be sub-optimal raiding tanks.
Pally and druid tanks had less survivability at all levels of content.
Paladin? Possibly, Druid? Absolutely not.
I'm talking level 10 taunt just like warriors.

Yes druids too, ZOMG druids have high armor they must have super survivability. Oh wait they don't because of shield block and parry.

Way to ignore high dodge and hp totals. There are plenty of places where druid survivability > warrior because of those two things...
