Druids other than Night Elves don't make sense

EDIT: TL;DR - It would be nice if the druid class was less centered around night elves. Yes, other races can be druids but having a class be SO night elf related is off-putting. Similar to how playing a non-panda monk is in terms of feel.

And it sucks. The entire class is Night Elf themed and any other race just doesn’t fit. I really love Tauren for example, but I just can’t play them as a druid because the class fantasy is all wrong. For example:

  • The Cenarion Circle is 95% night elves and the only notable tauren is Hamuul Runetotem, who was taught by THE night elf. Nope, can’t have your own unique origin, gotta be night elf related. Every playable druid is part of the cenarion circle which is night elf dominated.
  • The entire class revolves around Elune. Night elves have racials relating to her and even have jewelery/tattoos with her symbolism. No other race has this.
  • Tauren don’t even have any racials relating to their earth mother or any symbolism. They don’t even worship elune, instead they worship Mu’sha, the tauren equivalent. Not like it matters though because night elves are Elune’s “favored children”. Some more flavor with the earth mother would be nice at least.
  • Walk into the Legion class hall of Dreamgrove and you’ll feel completely out of place for not being a night elf.
  • And that’s just tauren, the other races REALLY don’t make sense. I feel like druid suffers from the same issue that the monk class does. Monks are centered around pandas and pandas only. Couldn’t level this dope to max because it’s just so ridiculous.
  • I’m not advocating for restricting other races from being able to be druids, I’m advocating for druid lore and class identity to be shifted from night elves to every race that can be a druid.

Side tangent but I’ve never felt so strongly about an opinion than this one.

All you monks who aren’t pandas look like nerds, especially the undead, they call it Rising Sun Kick cause your bony leg flies off to the sun when you do it.

I have to say, Kul Tiran druids are some of the most ridiculous looking characters.

I was going to swap to one of my druids and do a crying emojo with the text, “Am I a joke to you!?” But it turns out that all four of my druids are night elves so I guess you’re right!

Night Elves were once Trolls so, yeah trolls should always have been druids. Tauren lore explains why they’re druids and Kul’Tirans have the drust. The only druid race that doesn’t make sense is Gilnean, they’re just humans in fancier houses.

I don’t think this logic tracks. Humans were once apes. And humans can design skyscrapers. I don’t think that apes should design skyscrapers.

As a species evolves, their skills may evolve as well.

Honestly the only reason I chose night elf druid, wasn’t because of their strong lore for night elf druids or anything else, but because Night elves were the only druid race that could wear shoes. (Then kul’tiran came and could be druids but…fat).

Tauren are the best druids, their base form is a minotaur form.

How many druids have a minotaur form?

Did you know that 73.89% of statistics are made up on the spot?

In WoW humans were titan creations afflicted with the curse of flesh.

As for apes in the real world, they don’t have an empire, Trolls (in WoW) do.

There is a certain worgen troll I hope I trigger with this, but worgen are a result of the Sythe of Elune, so we have a connection there. But otherwise I agree from a WC3 perspective. Heck, even female druids threw me off a little with the original release. Honestly this is my problem with the people who are like “XXX cant be YYY class” because so much has been if not outright retconned then “recontextualized” to the point a WC3 player would give some side eye.

But Nightelves learned to be druids after they’d stopped being trolls, so why would trolls necessarily have always been druids as well?

Also how can you justify KulTiran and Tauren druids by saying “they have their own lore” and then ignore the lore that was written to explain Gilnean druids?

Edit: Not to mention that the first Kul Tirans came from Gilneas. So by your logic (trolls shouldve always been druids cause Nightelves came from trolls) Gilneans should have no issue being druids if Kul Tiran druids are justifiable.

How don’t Trolls, Zandalari, Tauren and Highmountain fit? They all literally have their own storylines for it. And their own forms.

Where are we getting these statistics? And it’s inclusive to all Druids. Not to mention, irrelevant, seeing as how no one has to be part of the Circle to be a druid.

It does not.

Broken Isles is literally the broken parts of the Night Elf empire. But the entire storyline with Eche’ro and the Highmountain does exist.

They absolutely make sense if you paid attention to their lore.

ya they kinda just glossed over the fact that the Horde burned a world tree and all the horde druids just kinda stood there and shrugged and never said a thing about it ever.

I said the Tauren lore explained why they’re druids. The Kul’Tiran interacted with/ were taught by the Drust over time.
I didn’t know about harvest witches though, honestly, they’re lore still feels like a bit of a stretch.

It’s very old lore, actually. The Scythe of Elune has been mentioned in the game since Classic. And there are comics about it. It’s where the Worgen originated.

Harvest Witches aren’t Druids. They’re primitive Nature users. It’s the Worgen curse that linked them to the Emerald Dream and allowed them to connect with Druidism.

In the lore tauren were cenarius’ original “children/apprentices”.
The tauren were chased out of the grove by trolls who eventually got formed into NEs by the well of eternity.

So all trolls, all tauren, and night elves are all very druid like…

Actually, we roasted marshmallows!

Seriously though, Teldrassil was made by the Night Elves (led by Fandral Staghelm) to regain their immortality. This failed as Teldrassil was not blessed by the dragon Nozdormu who thought the Night Elfs arrogant.

TL;DR It had nothing to do with Druids, just the Night Elves.

While we’re on the topic of War Crimes, how come the Argent Crusade just stood idly by while Sylvanas was LARPing as the Lich King?
