And it’s not as much work as they make it out to appear to be to the masses.
You can go to a Youtube content creator, give them the creation engine for WoW and they can likely mock up an entire new model for a Druid form, complete with animations, triggers, proper damage, etc, and have it all complete–by their lonesome–doing 8 hour shifts per day, two days off a week, and have it done in a month or less.
That’s just one individual content creator.
@Edit:
Strike that, it would take less time because all they would have to do is copy/paste the animations, damage calculations, hit triggers, keybind recognition, etc, and make them work for the rigging of the same-skeleton they use for the new Druid forms (since they, literally, do use the same skeletons.)
Yes and if you read a few posts down you’d see that because highmountain is barely different from tauren I dont think the horde has very good druid variety. horde has 2 almost identical druid tauren races and 2 trolls (with at least a decent difference).
Alliance has 3 much more varied (in comparison) druid races with nelf, KT, and worgen.
So essentially the point Im making is fewer choices is still better variety if the higher number of choices are all really similar.
I would still advocate for more alliance druid races of course but I don’t think your point is super valid.
I have to agree that the Alliance has more variety of different druid races, with one animal one (worgen, not counting this as human as you can’t be in combat for the human form), one human one (Kul tiran Human), and one elven race (Night Elves).
The horde have two trolls (Zandalari, Darkspear) and two Tauren (HM tauren and regular Tauren).
However, druids are one of the most popular races currently in wow, and I think it’s important to have a somewhat equal footing in the number of races capable of being druids.
So I’d say give Alliance 2 races capable of being druids and give the Horde 1.
The alliance should have at least 1 of them be very close to some of the other druid races of the Alliance though, for example Humans.
The Horde could have one of the other races learn it, for example either Mag’har or regular orcs. Maybe the vulpera, I’d prefer if the arcane focused elves didn’t get it as it’s so far off from their culture focused on magic.
Or just give the Alliance one druid race and then make Pandaren be druids, adding a new option to both for the price of one.
