Apples and oranges. One existed long before human paladins and is finally playable, the other has yet to exist at all. Also, tauren were given paladins way before that.
Except for the race whose culture and physical selves are both the antithesis of druidism.
Agreed and wish they had gone more of a neutral route with allied races so that this can also be a solution. Not every allied race of course but the ones that would make sense.
I’d happily make a dwarf druid. Races share their culture with their friends. It could happen. I find it more believable a Bronzebeard learning druidism from an elf than learning to become a warlock from Dark Iron who were only moments ago enemies. That distrust doesn’t just go away.
Nightborne Druid / Dwarf Druid -Let’s be honest here folks. The lore is basically there with the Arcan’dor, and Gryphon fits for Dwarf Travel form. Couple to that the Hinterlands is home to a Portal into the Emerald Dream already. It makes sense.
Runners Up:
Mechagnome Druid / Vulpera Druid-Transformers and Vulpera Skinchangers. Makes better sense than Warlock.
If anything, Alliance needs one more druid and horde need no new druids, to restore the balance they spent over a decade keeping to the point they cancelled Draenei druids because they decided Worgen druids fit better, leading Draenei to getting no new classes in Cataclysm as a result.
Then whenever this is pointed out, they discount Highmountain tauren and cry that they only have two tauren and two trolls as if the Alliance doesn’t have two humans and one elf. I think these posts saying that the Horde needs another druid race might just be shorthand for “I want blood elf/nightborne/vulpera druids, but I won’t say it out loud”.
Well, shoot. I’ve kinda wanted draenei druids and/or rogues for years, and for a while, I was bitter about them only ever getting DKs and monks as a post-release class. Out of all Alliance races, I thought draenei were one of the best candidates for druids and would’ve caused quite a few nelf druids to race change if the class was given to them.
Yep. They told us back on the Cata beta boards way back when that originally Draenei Druids were the new Alliance druid race, but they stopped last minute to give Worgen druids instead. Which is why Draenei didn’t get any new class. Which is stupid. (And they told us they didn’t just give both because they wanted to keep the faction balance on druid races)
I would’ve preferred goat druids to wolf druids.
IMO give us Dwarf Druids (WIldhammer Druids were in the RPG, which although not considered canon anymore, has had things made canon from it, like Jaina’s brother Tandred).
Draenei Druids would be nice, but at least Wildhammer druids would fit the lore easier.
