Druids keep escaping

when dismounted with shredder they just transform back. in fact shredder should probably keep players in combat for a number of seconds regardless. they keep getting away.its very easy for them to drop combat and fly off instantly as well.

Druids not having flight form was one of the nicer things about wpvp this expansion.
Now it’s just shadowmeld > flightform any time they’re in danger.

There’s your problem.

Honestly, I can’t stand that Shadowmeld is a thing in PVP. Literal cheese ability.

Flight form itself is also cheese. I don’t know if this bug persists with Wingshredder or not, but if you try to Net-o-Matic a druid in flight form while they’re touching the ground, the game recognizes them as a “ground” mount and won’t let you net them. Even if you get the net off while they’re in the air, if they touch the ground while the net is traveling towards them, it’ll also just not do anything.

Been a bug since Legion when net was first introduced and it’s very annoying.

Can’t even Whirling Surge anyone on a traditional flying mount either and even if you were to do that on a druid if it worked, Whirling Surge doesn’t put the player in combat so they could theoretically flight form back instantly

Shadowmeld → Flightform
Shadowmeld → Drink
Shadowmeld → Deepholm
Shadowmeld → Stealth
Shadowmelding big casts…
Shadowmelding effects w travel time…

Being able to drop combat and become untargetable whenever is insanely OP in PVP. No Racial even comes close to this level of cheese.

Oh I agree with you don’t get me wrong. Shadowmeld is big busted. I also think though that Flight Form itself is also cheesy because of the bugs associated with it.

To be fair… that bug doesn’t bother me quite as much as Shadowmeld even existing. Lol.

It doesn’t work most of the time, particularly if you have treants up or you’re using a shikaar hunting horn. I only shadowmeld to get away as like a last resort; usually I just jump off a cliff and flap until I’m out of combat and can re-enter flight form. And if people try chasing me I’ll root them in mid-air and maybe they’ll fall onto something other than water and die

It’s a “you” problem, wanting to kill druids :joy:

They are druids… it’s what they do.

But shadowmeld is…. very op. It needs to be changed.

Warriors have the ability to apply bleeds. Warriors also have aoe abilities too. Warriors also have a root ability. Warriors have a stun ability too. The warrior tool kit provides you with plenty of tools to lock down druids.

If you’re trying to dismount a druid and kill them, perhaps waiting until they’re on the ground is a much better approach.

Damage of any kind affects shadow meld. If you spec into improved heroic throw, you apply deep wounds to your target. As a Druid begins to run away….

Frankly, this is a skill issue…

As weak as we are why are you even complaining? sad face

To be fair, bleeds don’t keep someone in combat and roots/stuns don’t work on people in the air on flying mounts. Good druids have Shadowmeld Flightform macro’d and keybinded. One click and they’re gone.

It sounds like a solid plan on paper until you actually try applying it. Druids, on the ground in flight form, are considered a “ground mount” because of a bug introduced in Legion when Blizzard decided to consolidate Flight Form, Cheetah Form, and Aquatic Form into one spell, Travel Form. This was done in an attempt to make a smarter design, shape shifting the druid depending on the situation or area they’re in (i.e while in combat Travel Form will default to Stag/Cheetah Form and in water will default to Aquatic Form). The game will recognize a druid in flight form on the ground as a ground mount even though they’re capable of flying.

You can’t use Net-o-Matic or Wingshredder on a ground mount and you can only use it on them once they are in the air off the ground. Even when you get the cast off, if they touch the ground before it reaches them (since Net-o-Matic and Wingshredder have a travel time) it’ll negate the effect because it’s suddenly being used on a “ground mount.”

Allow Net-o-Matic/Wingshredder capable of being used on ground mounts or just fix the weird travel form bug. As others have said though in this thread, Shadowmeld is OP.

If you are bleeding you cannot stealth and bleeds cannot be cleaned off.

You can stealth while bleeds are on, it’ll just break the stealth once it ticks for damage. Shadowmeld is instant cast and removes you from combat instantly, when macro’d with Flight Form, you instantly exit combat once used and then macro’d with Flight Form you can instantly fly away.
