Druids can’t take potions, accept quests, or talk / interact with any friendly NPCs while in animal forms. Does anyone know when this will change? (Please tell me it’s BC)
Only thing i know about shifting is that you can start using pots in BC not sure about the other stuff.
As far as the potions go, you can’t use them in form but with a macro it’s about the same as using them in form

Something like that allows a bear to drink his potion instantly and without any danger.
ngl it’s annoying not being able to open doors while in form.
Well most people’s big concern with this is tanking related. Obviously you don’t want to pop out of bear to chug a pot as you can get one shot while out if bear.
But there’s a very simple solution to this. It’s called a macro.

This happens instantly with 0 chance of being hit while out of form. Just make sure you only hit it once. Spamming it results in being stuck out of form for a global.

A lot of Druid changes came in tbc. You can swap forms without shifting out first.
stop telling our secret to every body
unless spell batching get you… then your standing there with your drink in your hand.
The key is to not do it while within the GCD and you’re golden.

You can still get slapped out of form if you are very unlucky.
We get to talk to vendors and quest givers in forms in TBC, but it takes them till WotLK to fix the rest.
A good deal of the reason why I keep hoping for a TBC+ server because it is crappy that it takes them that long to give druids what effectively amounts to bug fixes. I call them bug fixes because what they originally did should have never been a thing to begin with.

Talking to vendors and quest givers, yes.
Not potions, it took blizzard till WotLK to give druids that bug fix.
That’s not too bad. More careful power shifting macros in BC then.
Powershifting in Cat form isn’t too bad because you are stuck doing it anyways for energy and can macro it in and no huge worry about the energy wipe.
Powershifting in Bear form in bear form for a mana potion or a Nightmare Seed, or anything like that and clearing your rage though can hurt a lot. Also when it comes to Barkskin. It’s on Oh Sh#t button that can turn into an Oh splat button that doesn’t even give what it needs to allow druids to deal with crushing blows like against illidan.
You can do all of that already in Moonkin Form.
Moonkin Form can use potions, talk to others and all that.
Tree form in TBC can as well.
It is only feral that gets shafted in this regard in both expansions. Can’t even use racials in form.
I get why druids can’t talk to quest givers in bear form, it’s just annoying. Especially when there is a quest giver who is a druid in bear form, but you can’t interact unless you swap out.

Try rereading the full context of the thread. It was talking about while in Cat or Bear form. And while in those forms, you can’t take potions.
And I know about those macros, I use them. It still doesn’t change the fact that you can’t use potions while in those forms.
