Druid's immune to all CC

When speaking about the past 17 years, Yes.

Because were shapeshifters.
Pretty self explanatory.

Here ya go!

“Shapeshift into Cat Form, increasing auto-attack damage by 40%, movement speed by 30%, granting protection from Polymorph effects, and reducing falling damage.”

Tooltips are correct.

Poly works on X
Druids in form are immune to Poly.

Druids immunity overwrite the poly effects

where is that stated ? i get thats how it works in practice, but i dont think this is anywhere except in our interpretations of how the effects work.

Look above. It’s in the tooltips for the various forms.

it doesnt say it overwrites polymorph effects. i play a druid. polymorph works on beasts. if you are a beast polymorph should work on you. only way polymorph doesnt work is on non-beasts and non-humanoids.

Transforms the enemy into a sheep, wandering around incapacitated for 1 min. While affected, the victim cannot take actions but will regenerate health very quickly. Damage will cancel the effect. Limit 1.

Only works on Beasts, Humanoids and Critters.

He ignored me again so he’s back to being ignorant despite facts being presented to him.

Don’t engage this guy. He’s a troll and an embarrassment to the druid forum.

So when the shapeshifted form says “immune to polymorph” how do you interpret that, if not how it currently works in the game?

the cat form tool tip is

Shapeshift into Cat Form, increasing auto-attack damage by 30%, granting protection from Polymorph effects, and reducing falling damage.
The act of shapeshifting frees you from movement impairing effects.

Lore wise i think the explanation was just that shapeshifting is a form of polymorph and a greater version then hex or mage poly so they can’t forcibly override our form.

but when it says “works on beasts humanoids and critters” and you see a beast in front of you, it should work. it shouldnt be immune. thats the issue. i guess my problem isnt from the druids perspective, but from the other side, the mage/shaman trying to polymorph

yeah yeah. this is the correct answer. its just lore stuff

I kinda see your point, but it isn’t a beast in front of you at that time. It’s a shapeshifted humanoid. The druid can also become an animated tree for pete’s sake.

Side note- Druids being poly’d, but still being able to control our movements and auto attack cause we’re use to shapeshifting would be hilarious.

okay but polymorph effects work on humanoids too.

i’d love to see battlefrog in action.

Druid at its base is not a beast Shapeshifting turns you into a beast.
Being a beast makes you susceptible to poly
Being a Druid makes you IMMUNE to Poly as per the the tooltip

It explains it just fine imo. Whereas Hibernate says it works on beasts. So we’re susceptible to Hibernate. Tooltip does not say we are immune to Hibernate.

2 different spells with 2 different rule sets

yep. and it works on a druid when he’s in his “humanoid” form, just not when he’s shapeshifted. It’s a special case. It’s a humanoid using “magic” to take the form of a beast. The druid isn’t BECOMING a beast.

I can see this argument. And this kind of comes down to PvP knowledge and knowing what another class is capable of. Outside of PvP talents, I think all descriptions for abilities are made with PvE in mind

its a special case not reflected or even allowed if you read the tooltip for poly/hex. it just says works on beasts. thats a beast. or a humanoid in beast form. either way, it should be covered.

absotlueyl agreed. i just wish blizzard would just add the word “some” into the tooltips. works on humanoids, critters, some beasts.

I tried to cyclone a paladin… but his bubble made him immune. Is says on my tooltip that I can cyclone all humanoids!!
