This kind of argument always makes me laugh because we can just say it’s ok if you don’t get access to every single item, it’s a game you don’t need every single skin to be available.

I actually agree with you, and I’ve been very vocal about people being selfish over exclusive items in the past. I mean, I had all the TCG mounts they’ve released as Twitch drops and I gave literally zero craps about it. I don’t get why someone getting something I have makes mine less cool. But /shrug. People view it differently.
However, I do think just giving the forms away freely with zero effort is weird. I don’t have them legit, btw, so not being biased here. I do think they should be re-released, just … I mean, some minor effort should probably be required since they were so hard to get originally. XD
Remix would’ve been a perfect time to do this, but alas.
What’s even funnier is all the comments I’ve seen calling for people who switched appearances but “didn’t earn it” to be punished by account suspensions or bans or whatever.
Because logging in and happening to check the barber and seeing some new forms unlocked, would totally be a red flag to the average player that something is wrong, rather than “oh cool I can use those now”.
Some people are WAY WAY too invested in deriving a sense of superiority from a freaking video game.

Yes. Sometimes a banner even pops up that says, paraphrasing, to expect it to look like you’re not logged in sometimes, etc, because it’s so busy.
The past few weeks it’s been mediocre but recently it feels really terrible now… ugh.

Yea that’s crazy, at most just fix the bug and remove it from people who didn’t earn it thats all they need to do, punishing people for a bug that you can’t even control is just silly.
I haven’t seen anything from them yet. They are probably still trying to figure out what they’re going to do about it.

I have the werebear forms but not the cat one, unfortunately, but I’ll enjoy looking at them while it lasts.
Almost certainly not legitimate opinions, it’s people wanting to stir the already hilarious pot.
A few weeks in the isocube, forced to listen to brann voice lines. That’s a way more appropriate punishment for such a heinous crime as falling afoul of blizzard intern mistakes.

That would be too extreme lol, Blizzard should do a better job of polishing their game. TWW’s launch was a buggy mess.
Imagine if there were hundreds or even thousands of new individual skins to acquire since then, yet somehow these nostalgic pieces in particular just make people go nuts on the forums because they can’t have them.
There is no reason to want these things other than taking their prestige. And they are, according to Blizzard (and I completely agree) prestige items.
Even if someone didn’t find them particularly difficult to acquire, a lot of us actually ran this content at release and challenged ourselves to play the game with minimal gear (this includes pandaria CMs multi mistwalker here, draenor CMs, BOTH mage towers, Rival skins, weapon illusions, titles etc etc etc etc etc). Our reward was something awesome for the time, and not all that flashy today.
Long story short, people should really stop focusing on the past. Go get those Duelist weapons and illusions, your 3k and vicious mounts, your current AOTCs and CURRENT M+ titles if you care.
After all, if you complete these challenges and spend the time, you should be rewarded with something different than people doing quests and running heroic dungeons. It is what it is.
Yeah, it is a bit of a complex issue. “Taking away” these skins is going to make the people who didn’t earn them pretty salty.
That’s why they gave Sha away for free. And look now, no one cares about it anymore. Pretty sad.

Reason #1 I can think of to want any form or transmog – because the visual appearance fits the character.
Not everyone is fixated on social status and prestige, and I doubt most players in 2025 even realize where those forms come from.
