Druids feel weak

so, I made a new druid yesterday but while unlocking 2 characters with them I’ve notice that they feel weak my armor keeps breaking even though my character was boosted to level 60 with a character boost I’m using their forms and the forms don’t feel that powerful I’m using the feral traits is there something I’m missing.

What spec of Druid are you playing?

Must be guardian to be that weak and useless.

Laughs uncomfortably in casual Disc Priest

Bear druid is currently the most powerful tank in the game.

What are you smoking? I’ve never had problems doing solo content as Guardian.

Are you trying to quest as Feral? If so, I recommend switching to Guardian.

To be fair, OP isn’t entirely wrong. I take my decently geared Balance Druid to Fyrakk Assaults and it takes a little bit to kill stuff and she’s a little squishy.

I take my decently geared Evoker out there and he’s murdering stuff super fast while taking a bit of damage.

I take my crappily geared Destro Lock out there and he’s mass murdering like there’s no tomorrow without a pet and taking almost no damage.

There’s quite a jump between some classes in open world.

Nobody is saying that they’re wrong. For Druid, Guardian is really the best spec for open world content. Trying to quest in any other spec is just painful.

If that replied to you, I apologize. It was meant to just be a generic comment for the thread as a whole.

wdym op? nobodys named op

You’ll often see “OP” used as shorthand for “original poster,” i.e. the person who started the thread. In this case, of course… you.

The trick to surviving as Feral in this game is to make sure you have a good handle on your survival abilities and traits - guides on Wowhead and Icy Veins can definitely help in that regard. But know how and when to use things like Survival Instincts, Barkskin, and Renewal. Regrowth is also immensely useful for keeping yourself up in combat.

Also, if you’re a night elf druid, shadowmeld may just become your new best friend as a handy way to drop combat when things get icky. Shadowmeld, prowl as kitty, run away.

guardian sounds better than feral I just pressed that on the level 60 boost and didn’t think about it too much.

Idk, I love healing bear druids. They always seem pretty good for me.

I hate healing Blood DK’s (get one shot mid death strike) and Monks (stagger issue?).

Everything feels weak at level 60 if you’re coming into it with starter gear. I dont remember how strong the gear is for a 60 boost, but the last time I heard about it, it was awful. Really awful. You’ll feel a little better when you replace that gear, and then immediately start feeling weaker every level until you hit 70 and get “actual” current gear.

Trust me, you’re having a “gear and leveling” problem way more than a druid problem. Feral in particular gets a lot of power from the last five points in the spec tree. It’s also considered one of the trickier specs to play, although I’m not convinced its all that difficult anymore, at least for Open World content.

You should never be leaving Cat form to cast spells, though. Prowl–>(Tiger’s Fury)–>Rake–>Shred/Swipe–>Rip/Primal Wrath into Shred/Swipe&Bite is your open world rotation.

If you’re having trouble, you can swap to Guardian as suggested. You’ll have an easier time staying alive, but it’ll be noticably slower.

yes, game starts at max level and everything before that is irrelevant and unbalanced

I just want to rule out the obvious… but you are in Cat form while you’re specced as Feral right? And not bear form?

There’s a cheeky hack which I hope they don’t nerf because it makes levelling so nice. Does require 61 to do.

Grab a bunch of ‘Phial of Glacial Fury’ the damage they will do from 61-66 will be absurd and will often be 80% of what kills a mob. So… when you have a billion moon fires going off on your Beary boi, big damage will ensue.

It works with any class but Fury Warrior/WW monk and DoT classes particularly love it.

You can still change specs whenever you want

Hey if you do feral spec there is this amazing guide for beginners on YouTube called basic to intermediate feral druid guide by psybear. It’s just barely outdated because one of the talents is moved around but it’s a great starting point if you are not familiar with like snapshotting your damage and stuff. He explains it really simple.

Balanced is a caster ranged dps (moonkin form)
Feral is a combo point generator then spender melee dps (cat form)
Guardian is the beef tank (bear form)
Restoration is healing through hots and directs (standard form/tree form)

if you aren’t playing the class the way the spec is meant to be then your going to have issues. There is no spec that switches between all the forms or multiple (except for high level play). I would recommend watching youtube as seeing as you boosted instead of playing from scratch and learning that way. If you have questions on druid looking at wowhead/icy veins guides will help you out as well.

there is also the class discord if you want to read and ask questions
