This is mostly for the Balance and Resto druids since Kitties and Bears kinda do have to use it.
Lets be honest.
Balance- Do you use the glyph of stars while completely ignoring the other forms?
Resto- Besides of using your needed tree form sometimes, do you use any other forms?
As for me, a balance druid main, I use the glyph of stars. That moonkin looks ugly. The flight form looks so vanilla and ugly. I only use water form out of convince because of some water quests. And bear and kitty form, i don’t really have use for. other than that, I use a mount
i use glyph of stars on my druids. i don’t use the tree form glyph. i use bear form a lot when i’m doing holiday bosses etc. cat form is the one i don’t use much. but i’ve made a baby worgen druid who i am slowly leveling as feral, so he’s using it.
I actually share the unpopular opinion of liking moonkin so i don’t use the glyph when i’m in balance on my spell druid.
I use tree form on my resto sometimes but with moonkin “offspec” talented on that character it can be annoying switching between the two as i heal/damage in a fight.
as far as artifact appearance so i like to use them to cover up my tauren’s cat and bear form, which i’m not a fan of, the darkspear druid forms are nice though and i do not hide them.
i use moonkin form because i like the silliness and also for the flap glyph, and cat form is my stealth/indoor-travel form for all specs. dont use bear much unless i’m doing BGs (usually as resto) and need to tank up a bit.
Heck yeah on both counts! Cat form for stealth/indoor travel, travel form for outdoor travel and bear form as a pseudo defensive if a bit of extra tankiness (though this was nerfed in BfA)
Half the fun of a druid is the flexibility of forms
As balance I use sparkle glowy instead of moonkin. I don’t mind it just using it right now. I also use feral when I need stealth. I rarely use bear. I do use other specs. If guardiand I use kity for stealth. I don’t use tree form even though I have the glyph. Don’t have to.
I use glyph of stars because I hate that stupid turkey form. I just wish I could get the golden astral form back. I wish Blizz had made two glyphs for it; one for each (moon and sun).
I pop into kitty form to move faster out of AoE stuff, move to specific locations, etc. in raids all the time. I will alternatively pop into travel form if I am able to, but most raids are “indoors”.
I agree flight form is a little lackluster (even the class mount look. even the “sentinal” look. all of them are “meh” to me). Despite that, I still always use flight form because it’s instant cast so it’s a lot more convenient than cast time for a flying mount. This is one of the unique things about druids I love over the other classes.
I don’t really ever use water form, even underwater. I don’t necessarily hate the look of it (esp the dolphin one), but it’s just not practical. It’s either faster to use the water strider mount on the surface, or if I’m questing underwater, it’s more practical to stay in my current form because I can’t really dps as a dolphin.
I do not use tree form glyph when healing. I do not like the big puffy looking tree at all. I think the original skinny tree model is okay, but is still “meh” overall, and I’d much rather have a good xmog to stare at.
If I was to play either Balance or Resto, I would use the Glyph of Stars. Tree form is pretty worthless these days. It used to be a three-minute cooldown that buffed your healing but that was taken away. If I had Balance affinity, then I would use the Glyph of Stars on this for the Resto spec as well. Some spells only work in “moonkin” form.
Honestly, no I use star glyph and for resto I normally just stay as an elf. though I do have the trent glyph and will use it every once in a blue moon.
I love the Moonkin form, but it’s “take damage” cry of pain makes my ears bleed.
Ironically, not even the Glyph of Stars gets rid of it.
I really hope either Zandy trolls or the Beefcakes Balance forms have other sound effects. I want to play Balance without my mind collapsing into madness.
All the time. I cast spells until I need to move then switch to Cat form and maybe use Dash to escape or reposition myself. Bear form and Barkskin if I need to withstand damage. I switch back and forth all the time. I have Glyph of Stars as I’m not a fan of the Moonkin form. Also I use Prowl all the time.
As soon as Zandalari are available, I am going to be using moonkin form. Right now, I don’t even play my druid, but if I did, he would be using the glyph of the stars. But that Zandalari moonkin form, though.
I play the Druid because I love the shapeshift forms! Some players complain that they don’t like the class because you can’t often see your transmog, yet the whole point of playing a Druid is to shapeshift.
It would be saying you don’t like playing a Mage because you don’t like casting spells.
I do use the Glyph of Stars and the Owl glyph for flight form though, those two are so beautiful.
