Druids being least played class

thats completely arbitrary , i love paladins but will never play a shaman and vice versa also works, you cant count them as a single class

I remember druids being great in Vanilla (though I guess it depends on how you look at it). Multiple innervates were desired in every raid. And 1v1 PvP, a good druid was unstoppable…even if the fight took an hour.

That said, I remember them all being resto. Hybrids didn’t really fit so well in endgame otherwise :\

HuH?

When you look at a poll and it says:

16% mage
14% priest
9% shaman
8% paladin

You cant even begin to say paladin is the least played, because the mage and priests numbers represent the combined players of both the horde and alliance.

While the paladin numbers are for the alliance only…

You will add the paladin and the shaman numbers together or you will cut the other classes in half or you are comparing apples to oranges. It isnt “arbitrary” in the least.

Are suggesting that what I said is untrue?

Healing as a feral spec Druid is pretty straight forward. I’m happy to teach you how.

“Leveling efficiency” and druid in vanilla? Not applicable to druids. Be ready for massive shape shifting leveling.

Druids are the worst healers in the game when specced to heal. But your guild took 3-4 feral specced druid (worse healers than druids specced to heal) And cleared Naxx during progression.

You know, something only 3% of the entire playerbase (the best of the best) accomplished.

And you guys did it with meme specs…because, you know, so easy…

Yes, Im saying what you said is untrue.

How are druids in various forms of pvp?

I said “Nef”, as in BWL. I never stepped foot in Vanilla Naxx and never claimed I did.

I also recommend not rating individual healers as better and worse. Think about building a healing team who works together to achieve goals.

Druid PvP in classic.

Feral druid PvE in classic. Number 3 DpS in 40 man raids.

You can do anything you want in classic.

As much as I agree, meme specs can do really well if they put in all the extra effort, linking a private server video doesn’t really help the case. It’s now wildly known that private servers had botched numbers from level 1-60.

Doesn’t change the fact that vanilla played fast and loose with a lot of stuff, so all the people claiming things can’t be done, are full of…stuff.

Which is fair.

I’m just a bit wary of some of the youtubers and forum posters talking as if Vanilla was a ‘play whatever you want its all good’ era. It really wasn’t. I never saw a single bear tank. Ever. Everyone knew warriors were the only tanks. Heck - I only ever saw priests healing when I was levelling as they were considered THE healers until much later on. And once raiding started the hybrid specs all obeyed what their tier sets told them to and switched to healing for a slot.

Not saying you can’t - but it was a super rare thing and kind of swimming upstream. My largest memory of Vanilla was sitting in Ironforge by the AH reading spam after spam going ‘Rogue (or hunter) looking for Warrior, Priest and 2 dps for (level 60 instance)’.

BGs: The GOAT flag runners in WSG. Very good flag protectors in AB. I personally had a ton of fun in AV ganking in the back lines. Not as fast as rogues and can’t do 1v2 like they can, but 1v1 they are beasts if they have time.

wPvP: Speed and stealth are strong in small scale. They are decent in large scale healing. Obviously they are good at getting out if the zerg pushes.

Duels: As noted above, I never felt I didn’t have a chance against any other class outside of warlock. Shadow was a tough fight, but you had a chance. All other classes were beatable. I fought a pvp rogue on my server for 100g and won, twice. He never paid me, he didn’t even have the gold he was so sure he would win.

I played feral in PvP but went resto for raiding, and I remember my guild having me save my Innervate on Ony just for the priest :X

Anyone who wants to play druid should read this website by the druid named Alamo. For context, it was written during early BC.

Resto druids played well are on par with priests in end game. You just don’t want more than a couple of them. Feral speced healing druids are trash in raids compared to a resto druid specing and playing properly.

Druids can be awesome and fun, lot of moving parts

I don’t see utility/hybrid classes as being useless at all. Sure, they won’t top meters, but they can save a raid. Folks tend to be a bit myopic about this.

Play whatever class you like and have fun doing it. Don’t worry about what other people say if you’re having fun.

At the end of the day, this is a game, and it is meant to be fun. Enjoy it however you’d like!
