My Druid alt is a healer, plan to keep him that way. But honestly, I’m curious to know the DPS differences between Feral and Balance. Which one is better? What are the pros and cons?
To me, I vote balance. I love this spec, so wonky! The mass aoe is really fun, starfall everybody!
Feral is easy but so annoying. It was hard at first. Now it’s just clunky.

Yeah admittedly I’ve been finding Feral kind of clunky trying it out when doing PVE. Feels sluggish even.

Depends entirely on tuning
At first I was like “oh I just need to be patient, it’s because I’m still learning” but now I see that it’s just very clunky. I personally feel that feral would be perfectly fine without energy, just combo points and the cooldowns.

So the differences are AoE really? I love AoE on my Death Knight, hell I love AoE in general, do lots of damage and kill plenty. Feral feels more single-targeted am I getting that right?
Was thinking the exact same thing, seriously no lie I thought it was just really bad starting out because I was new to the spec, but when I actually got a rotation down and got the hang of it… hasn’t felt any smoother.

I think boomy is the only spec capable of relevant spread cleave.
If we get any fight where spread cleave is the thing, Balance is mandatory

I mention spread cleave because it’s something that balance does both more easily and better than basically every class/spec in the game. This mostly matters if you need to hits mobs that are 10+ yards apart
Ive tried Feral a dozen times. Clunky sounds about right. A clunky cat lol.
If I have to have clunky anyawy, I may as well run Resto and have all that endless healing while Im at it and just take kitty affinity lol

I’m no feral master, of course I’m not going to play a spec I don’t like, so I’m not practiced. But here is my feral so far. I will probably swap him back to resto, I miss raid healing anyway.
Feral just suffers from little sibling syndrome to assassination rogue, in that assassin rogue does everything that feral does, but better, easier, and with more utility.

I like feral more because it’s more my idea of a fun play-style. I like keeping the bleeds up on the target but it doesn’t feel super fluid honestly. Something with the savage roar, I wish it was wasn’t something to have to juggle along with the rest of the stuff.
Balance druid never really clicked with me. It’s like playing catch with yourself lol. But it is strong! Seems like a lot of people enjoy it.
I’d recommend trying them both

Feral is not super fast key pressing, sometimes you do have to pool energy. It is a slower spec, depending on the situation.

Maybe wait until the next expansion to see how they play, which might be very different from right now.
