Druid tank leveling gear question

Is it better to just put on feral dps gear over gear with better tank stats?

In vanilla you wanted to put on trinkets and rings with armor. But for the most part gear such as the set from dm or wc should be good enough, as well as the sort of things rouges or warriors might use.

Leveling tank gear will be the same as your feral dps gear in classic until 40ish when you have options that may make a difference given dire bear multipliers and harder hitting encounters in ulda, zg and beyond. A few items with bonus armor start appearing as well and that’s broken op for a bear. Your bis leveling weapon will really be the same for both.

For SOD it’s still speculation.

Saintnick, I’m the feral druid Moonshiner, who is in your guild on Classic ERA.

If you’re leveling, you still want gear to have stam because it will make you more survivable when questing regardless.

Sidenote: before you unlock the talents in the feral tree where crits give you a chance to generate rage/energy you’ll want to prioritize Strength > Agility. After you get those talents its the other way around. The meta for the 25 bracket in SoD for feral druid should be stacking Strength.
