Druid RP Idea/Feedback

Hello form people! First time posting here so be kind <3

I decided to roll a feral druid, and I’m really enjoying her, problem is, my RP idea could use some work. I’ll try and keep things short haha.

Idea is that: A teen Gilnean harvest witch studying Cat Form/Druid of the Claw under the Night Elves is bitten and cursed, her parents are unable to handle her/dont want to tarnish the family name, so they sell her into slavery before the night elves can help her tame the curse. Shes shipped to Northrend (a location I’m trying to RP in more) where she escapes and heads out into the wild, some time passes and she becomes somewhat feral (staying in catform for safety and to hide her curse). Until one day shes discovered by a Vrykul family, they are fully aware of what she really is, and despite how savage they are, the Vrykul family decide to take her in anyway because she might have information on the Alliance…

I have more to the story but that should give you all a decent idea.
Also before I get 1000 replies, I understand druids ARE NOT house cats, but I figured shes trying to survive and will do anything + a druid in cat form would bascially be the size of a regular cat to The Vrykul.

PLEASE give me some feedback/thoughts. Or let me know if I’ve done anything wrong lore wise. (not 100% confident in lore)
Be kind lol.

Regards, Tay.

Hey there!

This idea is pretty interesting to say the least but something seems a little bit off about it. I think it’s the child slavery aspect that kind of hits you out of left field. There will have to be a really good reason to try and sell her rather than just get the shotgun and put her down Old Yeller style as most ashamed Gilneans might try to do.

And what time frame are we talking that this is happening as well? If this is happening around the Cataclysm when the worgen outbreak happened this could be a thing that happens. Vrykul also don’t strike me as the type to keep her for information extraction and would rather skin her so they can have a fantastic throw and tell the story of how they skinned a dirty Alliance dog.

Like I said I think it could be really interesting but the topic of child slavery needs to be handled pretty carefully. If you meant teen as in 18 or 19 that’s not as bad, but then I wonder why use the word teen if not to convey youthfulness. Anyway, best of luck! I hope the opinion, which is just my opinion and you shouldn’t let discourage you if this is something you really would like to write about, helps you.

If I may…

Keep her as a teen Gilnean , from the fall of Gilneas, who was afflicted with the Worgen curse as others. However, she was part of the ‘masses’ you see in the background. Forsaken come, Forsaken attack, everyone leaves.

Bloodsails sail up, capture some Worgen, and set sail for Northrend. They sell them not as house pets, but as gladiatorial/combat sport animals. Insert close friendship with the Elder Vrykul who bought her, a sorta father/daughter meets owner/pet relationship. By way of gathering alchemical items, she is cleared of the ‘fog’ that kept her in a mostly feral state.

The overall idea is definitely interesting!!! That being said, I do have an idea or two that might help you streamline things and make it fit a bit better with timelines and lore! Night Elves didn’t arrive until the tail end of the mess in Gilneas, so the question arises as to how and when she’d have time to learn from then before being sold into slavery. SO, my suggestion is this:

A unruly Gilnean teen, apprenticed as a harvest witch, chafes at the restrictions of being trapped behind the Wall. Swept up in the stories of far off lands and events brought by the sailors delivering supplies and goods to the kingdom’s ports, and always arguing with her parents, she sneaks passage aboard a ship after a particularly bad bout with her trainer, who had chastised her after a session of training. A training session… in which a wild animal had left her bitten.

Now, excited and blissfully unaware, she found herself northward bound, the ship headed for the great North to supply the fur trading settlements and old outposts there. Unfortunately, her curse began to take hold, leaving her at its mercy and attacking those whom she’d befriended on the trip. Hunted in port, not understanding what was happening, she fled the town and across the Howling Fjord. Captured and kept in a cage by , she was for a time their amusement and curiosity… put on display and mistreated.

That is, of course, until a Night Elf druid still stationed from the Northrend campaign happened upon the settlement she was held in, freeing her and helping her contain the curse, teaching what little they could impart to help her control her transformation and understand what she had become…

… That hits all your main beats and keeps her largely the same, but manages to fit into things a slight bit more. It could be Vrykul that found her, or remnants of the Scarlets, or random Trappers or Horde… entirely up to you! You could also do just about anything with the time length and depth of her training with said Night Elf, have them alive or dead, etc etc. The only real change is her running away and having things forced on her, as opposed to being flat out sold off. Anyhow, hope this helps!!!
