Dagger seems like a good choice for proccing clearcasting. So I should roll need on this if it drops, or am I thinking about it wrong?
no, no you should not roll on it, your rogue will be able to get better use out of it. Felstriker won’t proc while you are in feral form which is the only time you really need to be proccing clearcasting. You would be better off with a stat stick.
Questions.
What spec are you talking about? Feral uses pummelers.
Does this even proc in forms?
Are you certain that it doesn’t proc in forms? Curious about this.
Yes, I am certain, same reason why Druids don’t get the HoJ trinkets, they don’t proc while in forms. only proc that works is MCP for the attack speed bonus and thats an activated ability, but if your weapon has an on hit proc it won’t work in form.
Doesn’t proc in animal forms but you can use it to proc when you have ran out of mana as a BOOMKING!!!
Do it!!!
It does proc in boomkin though, but youd be better off with a stat stick. If your group’s rogue/warrior won’t blackball you for rolling on their PreBis item then roll away!
Are you sure the HOJ doesn’t work it’s not a weapon proc but a melee attack proc it should work.
But it doesn’t really matter because it’s still the second best trinket for kittys in phase one right behind blackhands breadth which you can’t get because if you want to tank you need to get mark of tyranny…
So yes kittys are going to shaft everyone out of HOJ:s in phase one
Obviously a stat stick is better…this entire thread is a very very bad joke.
The proc of HOJ doesn’t work for druids but yes the attack damage bonus is good, you can get HoJ or Counterattack lodestone in phase 2 from tribute or the best trinket from Ebonroc eventually.
I am dubious about this being true but it could be.
Are you absolutely 100% certain that it does not work?
Also in phase 3 Rune of the guard captain is awesome but it’s only for Horde.
Then go roll on HoJ and see if it procs when its equipped, im 90% sure it doesn’t proc in feral but I haven’t played classic in many moons.
Yeah I will be getting it anyway proc or not.
If I remember this thread at that point I will come and tell you how it went.
By desperately trying to proc clearcasting, you’re not only speccing for oom, but you’re giving up the largest stat chunk for your class by ditching a Staff.
For all the people claiming the thread is broken:
Felstriker chance on hit is to have all hits in the next 3 seconds not miss and be a critical. That gives a druid with Clearcasting free cast spells.
Unfortunately, they also die from melee damage effects and can’t make use of the 3 procs because casting even Rejuv takes up 1.5s of that 3 second proc.
So you’d happily screw over a warrior/rogue out of their best weapon that practically never drops, just so you can waste it on a class that gets no real use out of it? Do you want a hand of justice and sulfuras as well?
HOJ works for Druids. It’s an equip bonus. Not an on hit. Druids don’t get bonus for on hit effects, just flat equip effects.
Just don’t ninja from a class that can actually benefit from it.
100% does not proc.
They eventually added procs to druid forms in retail, but that was much further down the line somewhere around patch 3.x I believe.
In classic, druids had to depend on stat sticks or items that provided an “on use” such as the Manual Crowd Pummeler that has 3 charges to boost attack speed by 50% for 30 seconds.
Thanks for the replies and explanation. Good to learn something new!
