Look, I get that it was a limited thing but the issue is that for any new player to the game or anyone who wasn’t playing at that time, it now feels unfair to try and main a druid.
Imagine being a new player and falling in love with the druid class. And you dedicate heavy time into the class and love it, and you’re happy. Then you realize oh wait there’s different shapeshifts I can collect, wow! Then you realize the best looking ones are no longer available. It really just makes you never want to play druid again because there’s always gonna be a cooler druid than you, a werebear or laser kitty that just happened to play then and not now. Even if that person played ONLY then and you’re a person who played druid 10x longer, now they’re suddenly better than you and you’ll never change that.
This isn’t some weapon transmog or piece of armor, this is an entire shapeshift, and when you’re playing a druid that’s ALL you see most of the time. This isn’t a “look” for a character, or picking whether I want the red flaming sword or the blue flaming sword. This is an entire different character.
Say what you want about it being limited and whatever but it honestly makes no sense to me. A shapeshift is too big of a thing to restrict completely just so some people can feel “special”.
My girlfriend started playing with me recently and saw a laser kitty in the group, I later realized she was actually excited to try and earn that when I asked her what her in-game goals are. It was pretty crappy to have to tell her “yeah you’ll never be able to get that look”.
It’s an issue made way worse by the fact that those are the ONLY shapeshifts released since, and by far the coolest ones. It’s not even skins, it’s entire new models. While limited content isn’t uncommon, I never mind when it’s some weapon or armor, those are released all the time - but not shapeshifts, that’s taking the “limited” bs way too far.

The removal is the only thing that makes this kind of reward special. Bringing them back would just devalue them.
What Blizz must do is make more challenges with exclusive rewards. This game really lacks prestigious PVE mogs.

Yeah it’s true, time limited solo content has kinda been the bane of WoW. Getting glad through climbing the ranks of PvP a decade past might warrant time restriction but in the last patch of legion it was easy to do those trials.
Players are able to go back and do the solo content of Battle for Azeroth and farm the elusive mail mucher. They should re-open and adjust the mage tower to be completable now.

There’s something prestigious about obtaining items in the game that were then later removed from the game. I would be very disappointed if all of a sudden they brought back druid mage tower appearances and everyone is running around as a pink feral.

The mage tower rewards have no prestige. I know for a fact that most of you couldn’t even complete it without outgearing it.
In regards to the OP, nah they can’t do this. Either bring all of them back, or none of them.

It’s a reward for old players (Legion players), making something exclusive is not that bad.
And the appearance is not even that cool. I prefer colourful bears.
Don’t main druid then if it bothers you that much. Problem solved

Assuming the game survives until/if Legion classic comes out we are going to get it at that point. I’m happy to play something else until that point and just enjoy what I have in retail but I’d much rather they do this instead.

Many challenges were still not easy because of the mechanics. But you wanted to flex, we got it.
Regardless, they are ‘‘prestigious’’ because they are not available anymore. Use the word that pleases you.

If you’ve never played them before i can see your point. I think cata and mop were great times for pvp. And you can’t go wrong with most of the raids.

And I see the fair point in them not wanting to bring this back to retail. I’m a priest main so it means very little to me since I like the dark model of Xal’atath which we have available anyway.

I disagree. I think this attitude leads to lazy development.
If the developers create newer, BETTER things, the “old things” will seem like exactly that: OLD THINGS.
Just look at mounts. Everyone has a favorite. And as soon as a new one comes out, BAM, that’s what people use.
BUUUUTTTTTT-- for some people, they STILL HAVE that old mount that is STILL their favorite.
And that’s why keeping the old stuff is still ok. For SOME people, that is still their favorite. Let them have it, let others attain it.
But MOST PEOPLE are going to want a new model-- assuming your Devs are worth their salt.
Anything that isn’t growing … is dying. Stagnation is what kills any business, even if that business is a GAME.
WoW should NEVER be focused on “look what we HAD.”
The goal should ALWAYS BE: LOOK WHAT IS COMING.

Yeah I know this feeling too well, I got the mage tower bear form and while my god they gave it a dorky dance I’ve had to explain to my own sister at least twice that she’ll never be able to get it because the tower’s no more. I’m also sad I missed out on the other druid skins and some of the other cool transmog but at the end of the day I did only set out and refuse to stop trying till I had the bear form skin and the monk tiger fists and I got them… only for the mage tower to vanish into history alongside the mists legendary cape quest that locked off a raid boss for those who got stuck on any leg of it and couldn’t complete it.

You’re gonna be so much happier if you learn not to care for things that you miss out. You’re not meant to experience everything. Its impossible. Cherish the things you did get to experience.
