Druid Leveling

Hi,

Is it me or Druid is horrible at leveling? I assume i am judging too early as i did not get to level 10 yet and currently at level 8. I hope it gets better because spamming Wrath and waiting for mana to regenerate sounds like a dreadful way to level. Does it get better?

Nah theyre fine - every class is like this.

Level 10 is a big power spike due to Bear Form, same with level 20 and Cat Form

Damn bro, level 8 is nothing. You might need to just throw the towel in on Classic and head back to Retail.

level 1-10 druid is the worst. Probably out of every class. But it gets really good at 10 and better as you go until you are one of the fastest levelers in the game due to 0 downtime

I group up with 1-2 other people in the same area and stand back and cast a moonfire and a few heals, makes for almost zero downtime. I just got bear last night so that should finally speed things up a bit.

Feral druid is probably right behind hunter for leveling. but yeah after 10 bear form is when it gets easier than wrath-tanking.

It gets way better. Starts to pick up at lvl 10 with bear, then really hits its stride at 20 with cat.

After that, its smooth sailing.

Compared to warrior which doesn’t really pick up till around level 40, druid is easy street.

One thing i noticed that the mana regenerates when your’re in combat and regenerates in a good rate. I tried many other characters and so far this one is the worst. But like you said i guess it gets better at 10 so thank you for responding all.

Druids are actually considered the 2nd fastest levelers next to hunters. HUGE spike at 10 & 20. They get really fast at 20 with cat form and feline swiftness.

No… druids are above average levelers.

They are less gear dependent, have stealth, have increased footspeed and can heal.

Classic wow leveling is going to feel slow for every class… it’s the nature of the game. Leveling is a significantly larger commitment.

And once you hit 10, the lack of gear dependency makes them cheap to level, too. You don’t have to worry about upgrading your weapons like you do on other melee classes.

Also means they scale horribly, but still, for leveling, it is fantastic.

Druid leveling starts slow, yeah. Until level 10 you’re spamming Wrath. With Bear Form you’re tanky, and a Rejuvenation into Bear Form means you’ll kill whatever is trying to kill you, but slowly.

20 is where the fun starts. Starfire into a Moonfire and Insect Swarm, then bounce to Cat by the time the mob runs to you for a Rake, Claw and Rip, and you’ve got 4 dots plus Thorns ticking on the poor mob. Unless it’s an elite he’s dead by the first Rip tick.

More than 1 mob coming? Regrowth and Rejuvenation then let Thorns and Bear Form do the work for you.

So many dots as a Druid. If that’s your thing. It’s my thing.

I agree with Idrian, it is a slog to get through the first few levels it is true. But once you hit 20 the power of your class unlocks.

So far I am having a lot of fun and this is my first druid ever!

Druids are fantastic levelers and are often realm firsts. Wait until 20 when you get cat form.

And that sweet sweet +30% (?) running in cat form.

Druids are kind of a slog till 20 and cat form. But it’s nowhere near as bad as trying to level a hunter to level 10. Double so if you go night elf and have only a dagger and only white damage attacks.

Hey! Hunters have raptor strike…

Stop laughing. It isn’t funny.

But, seriously, the starting zone mobs run slower than you so you can kite just about anything till 10 if you wish. It isn’t -too- bad.

Yes, i know leveling is going to be slow, i played back in vanilla. I was just curious if it feels extremely slow or is it me. For example Warlock, paladin and even rogue felt like it moved quicker do to the fact they would kill quicker and the starting levels

I mean… you don’t have bear and cat form… so yeah

Druid leveling speed comes from it’s ability to have little to no recovery time… not really due to the speed of them downing mobs
