- All beasts (and some humanoid/aberrations/whatever) are classified as Guardian/Travel/Feral/Boomy
- You click one and do a channel similar to tame beast where you commune with the beast and "Learn" that form.
- Then from the transmog collection, you pick the forms you want for each form in each spec.
IMO this would be super awesome for all druids. Thoughts?
This would be amazing, it could have the same feel that hunters have finding and taming rare pets with special challenges. The added variety of forms would defiantly help you add a more personalized touch to your druid and would help make up for not seeing your armor for 90% of your game play other than running around town.
Aquatic form, too. Giant squid form.
Druids should also be able to buy a glyph that would permit them to use any mount in their inventory as their flight form.
I need a Deathwing flight form mount. It would carry a 40 man raid and have working pyrotechnics.
That might be a little bit overpowered, though I totally see where you’re coming from.
@Lunarkitty has the right idea.
i would probably grab the look of those lynxes in eversong forest/the ghostlands, then continuously drink blue drog for a dose of cat form nostalgia
Problem is; as they’ve stated before with normal transmog restrictions; they want to keep the silhouette of characters recognizable at first glance. You see a bear, you know it’s a Guardian Druid.
But if you see a Crocodile… What the hell is that? Is that his Travel form running after you? Cat form? Bear form? The enemy doesn’t immediately know how to react by sight alone. They would have to actually look at your buffs and determine what form you’re in.
Blizz will never implement this. It’s unfortunate, because there stands to reason that; in the lore; druids can actually transform into many MANY different kinds of animals. They generally prefer the standard ones that we can turn into, but there are Druids out there that take on the form of all sorts of creatures.
I suppose that’s fair enough with using a ton of different creatures, but there are still a fairly large amount of cat, bear, and stag/horse models that could be used for a fair chunk of customization without really changing the main base of the forms.
I agree with the using similar animals with similar silhouettes.
Or at least more variety in customization within the racial forms. I know it would probably be a lot of work to even split them up by gender, but I think it would be cool to have more options. Otherwise every NE Druid etc looks the same.
I liked the artifacts how it differentiated between a feral spec in cat form and an off spec in cat form.
All that beings said. I love my druidlyness. Just wish there was … more.
This makes too much sense and sounds too fun for Blizz to consider. Fingers crossed anyway…
You can still transmog to your artifact though. You can still get the guardian in bear form look from your artifact and the plain normal cat look.
And then when you’re in feral you have your awesome shiny cat form, and your normal bear form.
Just transmog your weapon. In the transmog pane right click on the artifact and a drop down menu will come up. Just select the skin that you want.
I just want to say that I love everything about this post.
I enjoyed being a manasaber in Suramar.
I remember them saying they wanted to bring more druid forms to the players after the feedback on the ones we got in legion and with the Zandalari and Kul Tiran forms, but I can’t remember where it was said. Maybe in one of the dev talks they do on twitch.
Where do I sign?!
Also got a good laugh out of the working pyrotechnics haha
Can only dream of this reality.
Great white shark form
You can count on me =D
I like the idea but I suspect it would need a few more restrictions, cats for cats, bears for bears etc.
That would still allow for many more options than we currently have and not force PvP players to have to think too much about your spec!
I’ve always thought it would be good if we could use our mounts as travel form, as a druid it’s pretty hard to get excited about new mounts as I’ll very rarely use them. Over the years I’ve obtained a decent collection but only use the ones with vendors on them.
I’d love to be able to use Ashes of A’lar as my flight form!
Lucid Nightmare as my travel form, all that work to get a mount for my, infrequently played, alts.
