Druid Forms for all Races: My proposals

I am an avid druid player, and I hope to soon see Druids for all races! Here’s my thorough list of what I think the Druid forms should be for all the races that don’t currently have them. I should note, I will be skipping the Moonkin form, as we just got FANTASTIC new models which suit any race’s needs. (Though if there’s a special case for one I may include it.)

Option One: Generic Forms for All Races
One option which might be easier for blizz to pull off would be to make generic forms which suit every race in the same way they’ve recently done for moonkin - leaving racial forms only for the original races that have them currently. Along with not having to make new forms for the new races, This solution would also add the benefit of not having to up-res some of the older racial forms like the tauren’s and the night elves’ (which they would really need to do if they make new forms for all the other races, bc humans having a better quality form than night elves would be absurd lol).

For bear form, they could use a simple model like Blackpaw from Darkshore. They could add a couple shades of brown and white to add some variety.

For Cat form, I’d suggest a basic Nightsaber model, probably also one from BfA Darkshore, also in a few colors. I would suggest Black, Brown, Tan, and Red (as this would cover the big cats which exist on all the inhabited continents the new races might have seen.

For Aquatic form, perhaps leave the seal. It looks fine imo. For Flight form, I would suggest a simple bird model - Perhaps the BfA falcon or hawk models - or even just the new owl models without the horns. I might also add a more generic looking deer to serve as a generic ground travel form.

Humans
Humans are interesting because of the creatures native to their region. Bears are easy and I might suggest the BfA bear model here. (if we wanted a wild card for bear form, I might suggest a bull or cow, as there are a ton in Elwynn and Westfall) For cat form, I would either suggest a simple panther or perhaps even tiger model - as stranglethorn is the nearest area humans would have seen which has big cats (my heart says mountain lion here, but there are none in Stormwind’s kingdom). For flight form, I suggest a vulture of some kind, as there are plenty of them in Westfall and Redridge - otherwise the same Gilnean Crow we got in Shadowlands. For Aquatic form, I would suggest either a shark, as we see in Stormwind Harbor. and for ground form, a simple brown deer.

Dwarves
Dwarves are fun here. For bear form, I would suggest a brown or possibly white bear like we see in Dun Morogh and Loch Modan. For Cat, I would suggest a Mountain Lion like we see in Loch Modan. For Aquatic, I might suggest a plesiosaur like we see in the Loch, and for flight i might suggest an eagle like from the Hinterlands. Ground travel form should certainly be a ram.

Gnomes
You could go two routes for gnomes: SMALL or MECHANICAL. I might do small animals for regular gnome and mechanical for the later coming mechagnomes. So for gnomes, I would pick a turtle for bear form, a snowy fox for cat form, a small bird for flight form, a rabbit for ground travel, and a small fish (goldfish?) for aquatic form. I might also suggest just making their moonkin form smaller lol

Draenei
For Draenei, I would choose animals native to Azuremyst and Outland. Bear form could be an Elek, cat form could be a ravager, flight form could be a mana ray, ground travel could be a talbuck, and aquatic form could honestly also be a mana ray.

Dark Iron Dwarves
Obviously things should be firey here. Honestly you could use some of the flame druid forms for their bear and cat form, then have a corehound for ground travel, a phoenix for flight form, and maybe a basalisk for aquatic? or maybe just the seal since fire underwater feels odd.

Lightforged Draenei
For Lightforged, I would choose light-infused creatures from Argus. Perhaps an elekk for bear form, a Panthera for cat form, a ray for flight and aquatic, and a talbuck for ground travel.

Void Elves
Obviously voidy things here. I want to throw in a wild card here and say a voidwalker for bear form (voidy bear if not that), one of those void lizards for cat form, a void phoenix for flight, a voidstrider for ground travel, and maybe an octopus for aquatic!

Mechagnomes
Mechanical creations all the way! Mechanical bear, mechanical cat, mechanical rabbit for ground, mechanical bird for flight, and mechanical fish for aquatic. Most of these models already exist. Moonkin could even be a fully mechagnome model.

Pandaren
For Pandaren, it all definitely needs to be from Pandaria - perhaps inspired by the August Celestials (as they are wild gods!). For bear form, I would suggest an Ox. For cat form, a Tiger. For ground travel and flight form, a Crane, and perhaps a Koi for aquatic. I might even suggest a Cloud Serpent for Moonkin form because it would be really cool. If not, then it could be the flight form and Crane could just be ground.

Orcs
For Orcs, I would suggest some forms from Durotar and the barrens. For Bear form, I would suggest one of those spikey boars. Cat form could be a scorpion. Flight form could be a vulture of some kind, ground travel could be a cheetah, and aquatic could be a shark of some kind as well.

Undead
Undead get tricky because death is so counter to life, but I think we can get more creative in most cases than simply an undead version of all the normal forms. An Undead/blighted bear for bear form sure - but perhaps a spider for cat form, a Darkhound for ground travel, an undead raven for flight, and then yeah an undead seal or shark for aquatic. Moonkin could also be interesting with an undead gnoll or murloc.

Blood Elf
Eversong Woods creatures for sure, and possibly the easiest of all the races to choose! Eversong bear for bear form, a lynx for cat form, a Dragonhawk or Mana wyrm for flight form, a hawkstrider for ground travel, and a fish of some kind for aquatic. Mana Wyrm could actually also be a cool option for Moonkin form honestly, and they already have their own unique treant model for that form.

Goblin
I thought for a minute about making them mechanical creatures like mechagnomes, but i think giving them janky forms would be more fun. A crab for bear form. A raccoon for cat form. vulture for flight, shark for aquatic, and maybe just give them rocket boots for flight idk lol

Mag’har Orcs
Definitely Draenor inspired fauna. riverbeast for bear form. ravager for cat form. great raven from Arak for flight and ground travel, and one of those spore fish for aquatic. Could be cool to give them a botani model for treant or moonkin form.

Nightborne
Suramar fauna for certain. suramar grizzly for bear, manasaber for cat, owl for flight, maybe another, slimmer manasaber for ground travel, and an eel for aquatic.

Vulpera
Vol’dun creatures here. Trilobite for bear form. Hyena for cat form. Llama for travel, vulture for flight, and a shark for aquatic. A Sethrak form for moonkin could be really neat.

Dracthyr
I definitely DO want to see more races for Dracthyr, druids among them! One of those horned mooses from the Isles would be cool for bear form. A primal dragon-cat like the ones in the isles for cat form. maybe one of those dragon-rams for ground travel. for aquatic, It should definitely be an otter, and for flight… well they honestly don’t need a flight form with those wings lol

These are just my thoughts! What are yours??

I love druids too, but that’s a bit much, and I will never support all classes for all races. I would rather they spend their time making new classes, professions, races, styles of mounts, and more.

Look, I’m honestly against all race/all class idea but if they’re going to do it then I want them to be done as to the quality/uniqueness of the races that got the classes before them.

I want the themes for the races getting druids and paladins to show up, if it ends up just being some generic form then I feel there is no real reason to do it

This kinda goes against Druidism, btw.

I want more of these.

I got you pal

Worgen druids being able to use their worgen form in cat form.

Or have a wolf form.

I love druids, but having druid forms for all races ruins the uniqueness of the class.

My idea for pandaren druid forms:

Xuen - cat form

Niuzao - bear form

Chi-Ji - balance form

Pandaren Phoenix or Yu’lon - flying form

Yak - travel form

Turtle - water form

It needs to be MY character, enlarged and in rage mode lol

The problem would be with the animation. Cats and bears swipe and thrash, but canids do not. They fight mostly with their teeth and jaws.

They should all just use the Night Elf forms.

(Including the humanoid, non-shapeshifted form)

yes.

also, mechagnomes go against everything druidism.

I’m ready to be roasted some more, now.

Love this addition. I think Pandaren druids make more sense than blood elves or shaldorei druids, would love to see it sometime.

Or just let worgens be worgens in their cat form since blizzard realistically won’t make a whole new druid form.

Mechangnome hibachi form.

The Gnomes from Mechagon have encountered the Drust before the Humans arrived, I think. Enough time to train with the Thornspeakers that there could exist some Mecha/Gnome druids. :clock1030::robot:

None of these models use the standard cat and bear skeletons and are largely incapable of using the clawing and biting attacks that you fight with in those forms, so I highly doubt they’d be exceptions like the werebear forms, and all of them stretch the definition of “Cat Form” and “Bear Form” far worse than the Zandalari druid forms do. When I think of the former, I associate it with cats and cat-like creatures, not spiders, scorpions, and giant alien lizards.

These are creatures native to Azeroth, not the Emerald Dream or Ardenweald, and also stretch the definition of “Moonkin Form”. Gnolls and murlocs have virtually never been associated with the Dream or allies of the Forsaken, so it makes no sense for an undead druid to shift into creatures that new undead characters are sent to kill for being nuisances. It also makes zero sense for vulpera to be turning into sethrak, a race that’s more commonly associated with lightning, just because the two lived together.

Also, consider the fact that these races have fanbases that want them to be their own playable races and not transformations for existing races, and would need their own moonkin forms if they had druids.

Shal’dorei/Nightborne would probably be the easiest to put in right now though. Like the HM Tauren, just change some baubles to more Nightborne aesthic on the Night Elf forms viola.

Totally rope them in with the arcandor fruit + the Emerald dream, some Nightborne became more interested in something that began before they were bubbled. They are Astrologians first or something and now they are feeling more connected to the nature part.

Pandaren though would be the best race to do for Druids first though since both factions would have access to them.

I know I’m 100% biased, but I would give anything for dwarf druids. I think they missed a good opportunity by not having earthen druids, but I do prefer Ironforge and Dark Iron Dwarves, so I’ll think positive.

I feel like Wildhammer dwarves would be the best way to introduce druids, as they could be druids in the RPG. Not as a separate race, but definitely an extension of the dwarves we already have. I think making everything very earthy and natural would be the best for the aesthetic. Maybe with some tattoo markings.
