Druid changes

Not gonna lie, i’m very happy with all these changes. Buffs and nerfs all healthy for the game as a whole. Especially furor properly saving energy. That’ll really nerf the feral tax with shifting power. Faerie fire threat for bear is huge too. Moonkin aura and leader of the pack change will also be good so you won’t exclude a feral if you have a moonkin in the party and vice versa.

I expect we’ll see things like damage number tweaks going into the future but i’m very happy with what i’ve seen today. My only concern is still to do with the aggressive scaling of sp on gear and if theres a way to better implement it without the massive hybrid tax. It doesn’t feel good to take a damage loss on feral to throw out a heal and do almost nothing. As it stands we’re still massively punished for attempting to use our utility.

We’ll have to see how much threat it actually does. They added threat to Demo Roar, too, but the amount is tiny.

FF no longer triggering OoC is a pretty huge nerf to cats and bears. The rest of the changes were good, though.

I do appreciate the change to Natural Instinct giving healing power, but 25% of int isn’t going to be very much. Its not like cats or bears are going to be stacking int. The amount of it you have the moment you ding 60 will likely be the same as you’ll have in fill BiS.

Would be great if it was agility like in Wrath, or even attack power or stamina. Anything that will scale as health pools get bigger.

Yep, ele and spriest got their review but seems balance will have to wait

They didnt address the glaring Energy starvation problem druids now have, nor does furor fix that problem, i dont see a benefit of bringing a feral dps to a raid. ( my main) its like getting the rogue treatment in tbc, but your actually 100% useless, since you cant give out your innervate, nor battle rez after 3 shifting powers, nor do your heals actually do anything with this talent change they implemented if your in full feral gear, and your damage is far less compared to a resto druid spamming wrath.

Yea I am happy with them too. Still think Ferals base dmg is sub par. But that can be balanced out in time. Also not a fan of Shifty Power, but it is what it is I guess.

See I kinda like it. Its the same cost as power shifting was in classic but without the jankiness of using macros to drop form and re enter it. Since our primary resource for utility and interact with the rest of our kit is mana, it makes sense that our energy regen is tied to it. I just wish we had some form of compensation for re entering form. Something like after entering form shifting power auto casting for free and giving you % energy based on furor. Other than that I think the mechanic is fine.

Crazy how they managed to nerf the weakest spec in the game again.

I would say RIP Balance, but it was already dead.

I’m hoping Balance will get the same review treatment! I leveled 3.5 characters to 30 on the beta and that 0.5 was my balance druid, I just had to stop at 25 because even with the additional 5 talent points it couldn’t be saved.
The gameplay of only having wrath and everything else either doesn’t do significantly more damage or costs multiple times more mana didn’t feel like it made sense, and this would go on until 60?
Out of all the classes I tried, they all felt like they had great power spikes either with talents, spells, quest classes, etc. Balance did not feel that way at all, Nature’s Grace reduced to 10% casting speed for 3 seconds doesn’t feel that powerful as the original reduced casting time talent, 3 seconds is so short.

Also, wanting Wrath to be a Druid’s version of wand is fine but it can be pushed back, counter spelled/kicked, and does not have an auto shot option makes it feel much less superior. I did a WC and my hand was tired from the amount of Wraths I had to cast

I imagine it will. A couple specs got pretty heavy reworks so it seems like they’re rolling them out as they’re complete. Balance is definitely still hurting so i’d expect something in the future. Balance needs significantly more work than feral did so I expect it to take longer.

Nah its not the best but i’ve still played current retail. That version of eclipse has got to be my least favorite ever.

Whats wrong with it? Isnt it just dot dot, wrath? When we have more talents in the tree we cast a LOT more starfire and a lot less wrath.

ur whole rotation is unlocked. ignore damage. nothings gonna be changing at 60 rotation wise single target anyhow. eclipse + natures grace nerf = crits dont feel as good. Cast sequence macro rotation.

our whole rotation is not unlocked because there arent enough points currently to make eclipse viable. Its gonna be a decent rotation by classic standards. Keep both dots up, wrath for eclipse, starfire spam. in AOE you basically just manage dots and hurricane if possible. Most classes have rotations that are simple like this.

lvl 30 + 5 from legacy points. you have enough to max eclipse.

yes but you also need to max improved starfire. Points dont allow for it in testing. Balance will require more than 31 points invested as it is.

ok im talking about the feel of the spec not damage. you must be scooping crit damage. by not grabbing it u have plenty of points right now to grab everything for your single target rotation. again its just my opinion that it doesnt feel good. i think it feels worse than vanilla just because of the natures grace change. they could remove eclipse slow our rotation down and revert to the old natures grace and it would feel better than what we have now. id rather eclipse stack the cast time but i know folks want slower rotations.

I mean yeah if you don’t like it thats just your opinion and I respect that. I wouldnt mind eclipse stacking the cast time either. I dont mind it as it is right now though, personally.
