Same. i played druid too way back. I almost rolled one for SoD. I was wishing I did, then they nerfed SS and my first thought was “oh good now there will be less fotm rerollers playing druid” and i wanted to play one more. But on the internet druids would have you believe the class is ruined beyond belief.
These people are nuts. So far it seems if you like to do a little pve and pvp then every class has something going for it, even if one thing feels terrible. For druids, While leveling they can tank, heal, dps caster, or melee just by switching some gear and runes around, are top tier in pvp, middle of the pack in pve, and its not enough. its bizarre to see.
The rotation does not feel bad lol - it feels great — however my starfire should crit at 2k then… not 1200-1400 - they need to buff the proc to 100% not 80% … 4 DPS classes in logs for the raid are 200-300 higher then bommies right now… that should not be happening
The PVP players is the reason starsurge was changed brohter… so yes thats why we are whining… like they should have just reduced its power by 20% so you dont get one shot… however in that time a priest can completely dot you up and in 6 sec SWD you while feared if he gets it off… your literally screwed
Have y’all tried not thinking in extremes ALL the time? Give druids a chance to voice their concerns. Not every solution they come up with is gonna be a winner, but some might. you don’t have to trash people who have concerns about their class. It’s not exactly a competition for who is the best class in the game.
It’s exhausting to see, all this utility and all they care about is “muh dps” and logs.
I hope they keep druids right where they are now so it can weed out the filth and end this QQ brigade once and for all.
If all you have to bring to the conversation is “I want druids to be unhappy with their class” then you are contributing absolutely nothing. People are allowed to be unhappy with changes and they are allowed to voice that.
You should be happy with your class, if you aren’t it is a you problem and should re-roll. Druids are great and no stupid parse data is going to convince me of that, sorry a number on a 3rd party website is your reason for playing a class.
Assuming people are unhappy because of parse data is misguided and wrong, especially since balance druid still has good parses. Telling people “you should be happy with your class and if not you should reroll” is also a terrible take. You can’t just reroll at the drop of a hat and get back to where your main was. It’s also incredibly obtuse of you to think that players should reroll anytime they get changes that they don’t like. In WoW you cannot change classes at the drop of a hat, the best you can do is advocate for changes that bring your love of the class back.
The druid PVE rotation was gutted with these changes. The mechanics don’t work well together anymore. For example:
Before changes rotation:
(prepull S.Fire) → S.Surge → Sunfire → Moonfire → Faeriefire/wrath → S.Surge → Wrath x3 → S.surge repeat.
The new rotation doesn’t allow keeping up both dots together, and has stripped our ability to utilize faerie fire in pve. You can never use all of your +crit eclipse stacks too. You get so many but theres only enough time to use one wrath per 6 seconds. The mana cost of starfire is also too high to keep up on longer fights such as mechatorque.
The biggest problem however is that our rotation is a very tight 12sec cycle and if we don’t get a Nature’s Grace proc to use on our 1 wrath or 1 starfire per 6 seconds then our rotation will drift .5 seconds. This happens everytime we get unlucky with crits because starsurge’s cooldown is 6 seconds and not getting the -.5 sec cast times means that star fire’s cast will exceed when the cooldown comes up. This happens every time we get unlucky.
Because we only have time for one wrath cast per 6 seconds we are praying for that one wrath to crit. Before you had 3/4 wraths per 12sec and now we are down to 2 and we need 2 crits for our rotation to not drift. This is a huge problem.
Alternatively you could ignore both of your dots to get 4 wraths per rotation but ignoring your DoT spells is bad design too right?
It’s just a mess and with the 14% buff to starfire’s buff it’s just doubling down on how much our rotation is broken.
And lastly: you can get too lucky. If you get a crit buff on both wrath and on starfire thats -1second to your rotation. This means you have to wait around for 1s to hit star surge otherwise you drift it. The only thing you can hope for is a crit on your s.fire/m.fire cast so you can get in an extra wrath. Absolute nonsense honestly.
SoD is far and away the most popular version of classic.
There’s valid criticisms regarding the way he communicates with the player base, but I would be willing to bet SoD is the most profitable title in the WoW franchise currently.
Like the fact that you guys are on here losing your minds over a temporary seasonal game that from the outset was intended to get a little wacky with no prior testing essentially validates how much you guys like it and want it to be good.
Advocating for a change in how Eclipse works sounds reasonable, a much less exhausting response and not a completely bizarre “solution”. You might as well copy paste that in every balance thread cause everyone else is making the druid community look like a bunch of childlike clowns, especially Vajo.
The root of all problems is that starsurge exists on a 6sec cooldown and that it is imperative we do not miss hitting it when it comes up. Nature’s Grace was never going to work with a short cooldown ability.
