Druid appearances

This is a plea to Blizzard to make the Legion artifact appearances more easily accessible, finally having different druid form appearances was a great addition to the game as a whole but having the requirements and everything only for Legion feels like a step back for current BFA gameplay. With Shadowlands it was announced that classes would be more focused on and for druids (aside from changing specs and what not) I believe having more customization in appearance would be amazing. Having to go to the transmog every time I receive a new weapon is a real pain + we can’t appreciate the weapon appearances with having to constantly transmog. I’m sure this has been addressed in countless forums already but I just want to put my opinion out there and keep my fingers crossed. Thanks for taking the time to read this!

Just go to transmoger and mog your stuff man. You want everything to just be 100% accessible all the time? About about having a vendor with everything you need to buy on the menu options… or get rid of summon stones and everyone can teleport anywhere they want when they want. Complaining about things like this are what’s ruining this game. Complain about things that are actual gameplay issues that need addressing. Like undertuned classes, performance issues, bugs, bad mechanics.

If only there was a mount you could get with a transmog npc on it…

Kul Tiran engineering has a nice good transmog kit you can build and take with you.

What you’re asking for is already in the game.

It’s not about transmog accessibility it’s about me not having played Legion and grinding out all the different form appearances so if I want them I have to go back to irrelevant stuff while also not being able to appreciate any different weapon appearance since it must be set to the legion artifacts which have also become irrelevant but yes thank you all for the insight

It’s not hard to go back to do Legion content and get all of the forms (except the mage tower ones); just time-consuming. If you have some free time just go and get 'er done. On the topic of the mage tower skins, those are considered a limited edition appearence that you had to get during Legion. I missed out on them as well and so I can understand your plea, but those will probably remain locked away for a while atleast (hoping they bring them back or a new challenge mode).

Sounds like nobody here has actually tried to use their legion appearances.

I earned a lot of druid appearances, including Prestige ones, Balance of Power, and hidden Guardian and Feral appearances. Now my BfA druids cannot use their appearances they earned unless they transmog their staff into the original artifact appearance. And since I have the red mythic Scythe of the Unmaker, I’d like to use that. Instead I am forced to choose between using an appearance and transmogging my weapon into fist weapons that don’t match my mog, or using the old crude bear form and having my weapon show.

Meanwhile, my 110’s can’t use the Balance of Power appearance I earned except as a mog over a staff, which doesn’t exist in Legion content. You can’t mog over dual fist weapons because they are an unapproved weapon type for guardians. Likewise Ferals cannot equip dual daggers but are forced into the same choice as Guardians.

If you never played Guardian or Feral, you would never have run into this issue. We sure got the short end of the stick in that conversion.

Not sure how you can read this and come up with, “Sounds like nobody here has actually tried to use their legion appearances.” Pointing out that you have to transmog the weapons isn’t something knew you’ve stumbled upon. The forms are tied to the weapons. If you want spectral cat or werebear, you’re currently stuck with those legion weapon looks. We all know it since it was complained about since BFA launch. Grats on the late bus.

Somewhat off topic but I would even be happy with somewhat any druid appearance options in something like the character creation menu, somewhat similar to Worgen I suppose with how they have the worgen options & human options to customize. As a druid I feel like it’s safe to say majority of us are probably in some form or another probably at least 80% of the time, just having different manes or anything random to customize would be a pretty big improvement in my opinion, then I wouldn’t mind as much grinding out the Legion stuff I guess, but my complaint is that any form alteration is strictly tied to Legion, which was a good addition to Legion but after they couldn’t update it for BFA to keep any of it relevant? Just straight up forgotten and then being forced to transmog if you want to look unique at all while also being stuck with artifacts that looked cool at first but I feel like I haven’t seen much of the BFA weapon appearances because I just run straight to transmog. But yeah I’ll just deal with going back and grinding it out, at least the forms are still unlockable and in the game for the most part so I’ll give them that, fingers crossed that Shadowlands hooks the druids up in some regard.

I played kitty/bear for years with nothing but your hair color as a form of customization. I didn’t play in legion and have since gotten a few of the options but not many. I don’t change my bear at all, and I use the orange skin for cat. Either way, it took wow 13 years just to do that much minus the seed pouch in firelands. I wouldn’t hold your breath too much on too many things to make us look unique.

Pre-wrath we didn’t even have that, everybody was the same bear model you got at level 10.

I remember there was a thread, back on the original forums, where somebody linked a picture of their bear sitting in Mulgore, and said “I’m new, here’s my druid in Mulgore.”

And everybody ran with it. Posting things like “Cool! Here’s my druid in Blackrock Spire” and then link the same picture. And it went on for a while with people doing that. :bear: :bear: :bear:

I remember when they started the hair thing, my druids hair was purple and my bear looked stupid until I was able to change my hair to white. That was the same patch as the barber shop iirc. I don’t recall being goofy looking for long.

My druid didn’t become my main until halfway through wrath naxx. I think I only hit 40 in vanilla with it and I know it was my 3rd 70 in bc.

I agree. I shouldn’t have to ruin my Transmog fun because I am forced to wear these ridiculous looking oven mitts in order to use the Bear forms THAT I EARNED!!!

FIX THIS BLIZZURD!!!

Oven mitts

He’s not wrong though.

Can’t take credit for that description. But so funny when I heard it, I’ve taken to using it. :grinning:

Beggars can’t be choosers. Either you get the awesome Transmog and basic shapeshifter forms, or you get the awesome Forms and poo mogs

Why? We earned the Transmog gear. We earned the artifact forms. Why should some players be horribly restricted from one aspect of the game?

You’re not restricted from anything.

You earned the different forms in legion, and thus you can use them

You picked up the gear for the cool xmog, and thus you can mog it.

Just because the two don’t go together doesn’t mean you can’t use either one.

Plate wearers can wear any type of armor. So why can’t my DK mog into leather armor? Same principle more or less.

I do see the appeal to having my cool white kitty form (by far my favorite), and also having a nice polearm attached to make the mog look nice too. But I spend 80% of my time in form, and so I’ll pick the daggers

There is a way around all of this though. It’s called the equipment manager. Make a set that has your transmog weapon and run around like that. Hit a macro to swap out your regular 445 weapon before going into a dungeon/raid.

I know it’s one extra step so people will throw a fit about it rather than just do it. But alas, that’s the day and age we live on

I’m in form 95 percent of the time. Having the dumb looking kitty daggers means nothing to me considering I usually look like a purple pigeon anyway.

Yes. That’s an option that mitigates the restriction. It doesn’t resolve it. Many people like their transmog look in dungeons and raids too; you’re not always in form in a dungeon/raid. Further, you’ll also have to keep weapons swapping for any world combat like world quests.

Blizzard took a lazy way out in implementing access to the Legion forms post-Legion. They should change the way the forms are accessed. They could implement it as a toy. They could have the form selection be at the Dreamgrove. They could put the form selection on the Weapon Enchant slot instead of the Weapon slot. The developers need to make the choice to spend a little bit of time to implement this in a better way.
