So I am going to start a druid, and haven’t played on since Cata. What are some good druid addons. Mainly plan on playing guardian for questing and probably going resto for dungeons
Not really anything druid specific but i suggest you get vuhdo or a similar addon. Will help immensely if you play resto and is still handy in general.
You will definitely need to have weakauras or something like it for tracking dots and the like. Especially if you ever plan to play feral or boomy, theres much to keep an eye on.
I don’t know how much this actually helps, but I stumbled onto one called ‘Hear Kitty’, which plays different subtle symphony sounds per combo point (to let you track them via sound), and… I kinda love it now.
Uber UI
is a nice add-on that replaces the default blizzard character and target panels. Despite the name, it is not an entire UI, just the character and target are handled by the add-on.
It gives a very druid-like vibe to your setup. This also stops those panels from getting reset to the top left when having UI issues, if ever.
Once you enjoy the look and feel, most everything else for druid will be done with the WeakAuras
add-on as mentioned by others.
I use the luxthos Weak Aura’s, Vhudo for healing, Big Wigs and Little wigs, and Elvui for gui. I like all of them and they are very helpful!!
Strongly second the use of Luxthos’ wa packages for any class really. This is my setup except i use dbm instead of big/little wigs, but that’s just cuz i get tunnel vision and dbm is more in your face with the alerts
Agree about luxthos weakauras. I use them on every class for every spec.
Don’t even look at my bars anymore, just luxthos ones.
I use Details, ClassicNumbers and Leatrix.
I find the other UIs like Elv etc to be to cluttered and pointless.
Luxthos looks interesting but for my personal taste unnecessary.
I downloaded the luxthos not exactly knowing what it would do on the recommendations here and I have to say, while I wouldn’t have before, I am glad I did.
- Vuhdo: great healing addon and can also be a substitute for raid frames.
- Decursive: for one click cleanses and it flashes alerts when you or your allies require it.
- PowerAuras: allows you to create your own set of visual indicators and/or sounds to track nearly everything: items, spells, buffs, cooldowns, etc.
- Bindpad: allows you to set customized keybinds per spec, which is great for Druids. You can even set modifiers with shift/alt/ctrl combined with mouse wheels and extra mouse buttons.
