Druid 9.2 main

Should I main my druid in 9.2? I’m becoming more and more casual, but do enjoy m+ up to KSM. Druid my best bet?

you should play whatever class you really want to imo.

if you’re asking because you want to know where we stand on a tier list, i can say with confidence that Druid is going to be a great choice. Always a pretty solid class with lots of options, and fun playstyle/fantasy.

who knows, maybe it’s your time to hang up the sword and give back to the trees :deciduous_tree:

Nice reply! Main reason I’m asking is I like a lot of classes but have little time to play them. I mainly pug, try to hit ksm, and like to be able to do a bit of everything. I’m finding myself more and more falling into a “casual” bracket because of life priorities, and don’t want to waste it jumping from class to class.

I’m mostly casual, which is why I’m mostly on my druid now.

  1. Solid healer. Not expected to be S Tier, but solid A
  2. Solid Tank. Again, not looking like S Tier (that’ll be prot pally), But I’d say A+. Tanking style is a bit boring on the base level but as you start using more of your utility and get more creative about stuff, it gets fun.
  3. Questing - Can’t beat it.
  4. Feral - I find it fun, but if you want to do melee DPS, it gets shunned from groups for no real reason other than perception. I’ve found good ferals put out a lot of DPS and bring a lot of good utility
  5. Balance - I can’t really comment there. I find it too boring to be caster DPS.

But the nice part about druid is that its easy to swap based on mood.

Same with talents and legendaries. Lots of choices that you can swap out depending on how you feel like playing. Especially with Resto and Feral.

I’m going to echo this 100% This is exactly where I stand as well.

As long as you’re not Feral…don’t let anyone here fool you, mining a Feral is bottom tier, damn near off the page. Boomkin is God-like DPS, Guardian is a fantastic tank spec, and Resto is a very good healing spec. Stay away from Feral…but that’s not new.

Not the case in M+.

Makes me sad that Feral has is becoming the Bruno of WoW… People don’t talk about Feral (no-no)

I always start playing my druid more when flying gets unlocked. Leveling up right now, and completing bonus objectives without even leaving flight form is just comical.

If you can’t haven’t been able to get KSM as Feral this expansion, that’s been a problem with your ability to play Feral, not the spec itself. If your goal is to get the title with feral, you might have been stretching yourself thin. If your goal is to get KSM, there’s no reason why not.

Just play whatever ye want druid is one of the best classes in the game (just dont look at the cat).

Prove it.

Oh wait…. Youre going by your own damage meter? Lol nevermind.

Here’s a more reliable source.

After playing everything, and despite what things SIM at or where they’re expected to be at I find you can excel pretty well with any class especially if you’re into it and enjoy it. Personally I like feral due to it’s complexity and potential once fully mastered and the whole concept of it. Helps also to think of the lore and the actual situation of your char to help you “be into it.” Anyway cheers and GL.

I think part of being successful as feral in M+ is you have to work harder at the social part of finding friends to run with.

As a druid, when I find a good feral, I add them to my friends list and invite them anytime I go on a key. Because I know they aren’t garbage, and as a tank its easier for me to bring people in.

Having a couple of druids in some 5 mans can trivialize some mobs with soothe. Also being able to cleanse poisons, combat rez, and off heals are all items ferals bring to the table and I love to have them.

I’ve been mostly a solo player for the last two expansions. I just don’t have the time anymore to commit to raid schedules. I’ve noticed I have just as much fun doing things on my own and this is the perfect class for it.

Druid is right up there with my chosen playstyle. stealth is nice when I just want to slink around mobs in kitty form and not fight everything. I play boomie and feral mostly, it just depends on my mood.

They have also vastly improved the forms we can shift into with most of our forms. Now they just need to do something about adding options for boomie other than just a fat chicken or sparkling ghost.

It does really come down to personal choice. Play what you like, and don’t worry so much about what others think you should play.

Dont listen to these “dont play feral” mob. If thats what you wanna play then go for it, its fun, fast (not as fast as in bfa but still) and brings very solid ST damage. If you can learn it and learn it well you’ll be a great asset to your guild. And while we dont have BDE in aoe, KSM is still easily within reach as a kitty

Here’s the honest truth:
If you play casually and don’t have much time, then you’ll be best served playing tank and healer, as that will get you into keys quickly and cut out the time of sitting around waiting to fill.

Bear is a simple tank to learn and it is relatively strong and straightforward in the 15-20 range.

Resto only becomes a complex and difficult healer when you are trying to throw in lots of dps and min max all of your utility. If you focus on healing and play night fae, you’ll blast KSM. Throwing out moonfires when everyone is high and already has hots will also add reasonable damage.

Boomkin is a simple spec but actually has a learning curve in M+ because it is extremely timing/route dependent and very punishing when you don’t time your eclipses/AP/cooldowns correctly.

Feral is bad in keys. People like to say you can get KSM just fine with it, but the honest truth it that you can get KSM with 2-3 hard carries in the group, literally afk at the start of the dungeon. Feral is bad in keys. If people can say there are “good” things, then the sad reality is that there are also going to be the “bad” things which serve as a point of comparison to judge some things as good. The AoE is bad compared to most specs, the burst is bad compared to most specs, the single target is fine but is bad compared to true funnel specs, and the utility is bad.
You can play it. You can get KSM. But if you miss a key by 30 seconds(honestly, even as much as a minute or two in AoE heavy dungeons and fort weeks), there is a good chance that replacing the feral with a better spec would have timed the key.

Bottom line:
Druid is fine, but you’d be best served by playing tank or heals. If you want to dps in keys, there are far far better options; I’d recommend mage/warrior as very solid dps classes that you’ll be able to just ram at a key and feel like you are performing relatively well—if you miss a timer by a bit it won’t feel like your class choice made the difference.

it’s KSM, +15s are all about whether or not you can play at an average-ish level. Class and spec balance with your group don’t come into play at keys that low.

Pretty sure both my mains will be Druids this time around. Lol. As much as I try to get away from them I never can, and Blizzard killed my frost mage for me. I have one balance and one Resto currently getting worked on. There are too many net positives to Druids that it’s hard not to justify it.

Tank, heal, dps, stealth, travel form, great mogs! The only complaint I have is the horde race availability. I don’t exactly like trolls but they are the best option out of the ones available so it is what it is.

Feels like they over nerfed moonkin atm…though maybe with 4 set and 2 leggo it’ll feel better. I just feel drained of the kinda aoe burst others have and our set isnt gonna help with that.

Healings fine in m+ though at times feels like it’s less able to do emergency burst heal without covenant CD its fun.

Bears good solid tank. Feral may see play now maybe?
