Dropping out of High School to become a WoW Pro, should I do it?

Exactly! I was thinking the same thing. Idk why parents don’t understand tbh

Here’s the thing tho, if I don’t get a job then I have more time to dedicate to getting good at WoW and I can work on climbing the ladder and hitting R1 where as if I had a job then i’d be forced to spend all my time there.

Im trying to convince my parents to keep paying for me while I pursue my dreams, but idk if they’ll do it. Im trying though.

Here’s your problem. Parents don’t know anything.
Just start stealing money from them. They will thank you later when you are famous on Twitch making millions.

No… Finish school. Stream when you can to build a fan base. Once you get an average 250 followers or so with scheduled time go full time. Until then get some education or a job to start with prizes maybe and invest in some equipment. If you have to convince someone then you are too early.

Bad troll be bad, if you were good, you wouldn’t be asking.

Sorry but my parents raised me better than that, clearly yours dont if ur suggesting to high schoolers to steal from their parents.

well im using all my birthday money to get a camera soon, and i aready have my xbox headset microphone so I THINK I should be good to go. but why do you reccomend i finish school first?

i just dont see how spending more time in algebra 2 class is going to get me anywhere in the wow pro scene.

Complete waste of time.

Stream as much as possible. Preferably 40 hour marathon streams even if nobody is watching. They will start watching, just keep going.

Useless advice.
Protip: You can use an old pair of headphones as a microphone.
That’s all you need to get started.

Its easier and more fun to have a job then the stream fulltime.

Look, you need to drop out of school immediately and start stealing their money.
It’s not even a big deal because you will pay them back twice the amount when you are racking in the bucks from stream donations.

One of the first things you need to do is find a psychiatrist and convince them that you have ADD. It shouldn’t be hard. Once you have been diagnosed with ADD you will have everything you need for those marathon streams.

xaryu has a video where he talks about his journey as full time streamer and he never had any money starting out either, so i dont see why full time streaming is so looked down upon?

If this is true:

Than this is near impossible:

assuming this is a real thread for a moment what are you going to do when you stream on your main and people send you messages that aren’t exactly nice?

What are you going to do when WOW dies (because eventually it will, may not be for a while but it will happen)?

What are you going to do when you’ve made next to no money for several years because that’s the reality? You have no H.S. Diplomia or GED, you have no relevant job experience, and you need to pay rent, buy food, and/or can’t pay for a new game to try and stream?

I think this thread is a troll, so I say go for it, and I look forward to paying for your living expenses on my tax dollars.

I can just block them in game? I dont have to listen to toxic people lol. and judging by all the hate im getting in this thread, its a good thing i didnt show my main because im only 15 and i dont want to deal with all that kind of toxicity from grown adults.

what would asmongold do? or xaryu? thats such a weird question, idk how anyone would answer.

my parents set aside a college fund that im trying to convince them to give me instead so i can live off that while i pursue my dream.

Either wat its up to you. If you feel its right go for it. Follow your passion. I believe most of us say at least finish school. The leap of faith either makes or breaks you. Id watch some. But i dont like to watch wow. Just not that entertaining.

ah, Stoneform welcome back.

You can do that now, and choose not to… Is there something that’s going to change between now and than?

I don’t know ask them. I would venture to guess they have a plan, or a savings incase something were to happen.

I’m not getting into this because I’m not a financial advisor.

Please don’t assume my sexuality in 2021, also I have a girlfriend already and she doesn’t mind me being a pro WoW player.

Ignoring people on forums doesn’t work, I still see their comments if people quote them and I see their threads too.

And neither are you my life coach, so idk why you’re trying to block a kid for chasing after his life long dreams.

I’m lost because you said you don’t post on your main so people won’t whisper you in game. So the above quote makes no sense to what I asked.

Bc you asked our opinion.

He has created a well sized fanbase to know that even if the game dies he will have a dedicated following. Might possibly not be as much as his WoW core fanbase, but certainly won’t cause him to fret. On top of that, his monumental stature - as one of the founders of OTK - will keep him high up there in the ranks as a prominent twitch streamer and affiliate. Lets not forget about the release of classic WoW games that are to be released in the future. Don’t think the death of WoW (as an entire franchise) is anywhere close to being imminent until after maybe 4 years from now.

As for Xaryu, I don’t know. I’d guess that most of his followers are WoW-centric, besides a few health-conscious/workout enthusiasts that strictly follow him for his body-maintenance/workout streams or notifications.

People are really out here starting new accounts just to troll in forums.

COVID really wrecked people’s mental health lol

I was just explain why I dont do it on the forums, I honestly dont post on my main here either because a lot of arena players seem to hate “squeakers” on the mic like kids my age. They are very toxic and rude.

I don’t know what to tell you man. Do you stream now? if not maybe try that for 3 years after school (assuming you get out of school and home around 4, that gives you 6 hours from 4 until 10) and than if you feel like you can live off of that you should finish school because I’m going to guess you’ll be 2 months from graduating and than you can become a pro player.
