Drop rate of blues Can you explain

So for the last couple of days I have been in SM running both types power runs and level groups and haven’t really gotten anything blue that is specific to a rogue. Can some explain if something has a drop rate of 40 percent what are they basing it on 100 runs? I am getting so bummed and discouraged. I got ran in Krual got the green pants and nothing else for the rogue. Most of what I have gotten has itel (druid hunter I guess). I am glad that at least a rogue can wear cloth even tho its laughable but doable.

Depending on your resource, it’s based upon several thousand runs. Welcome to a game where your loot is never, ever a guarantee; the grind is on purpose.

Yeah, it can be a real bummer.

My warlock and my mage both wanted two specific weapons (1-hand dagger and off-hand orb), that drop from the final bosses in SM Library and SM graveyard. My warlock got the 2 drops in 2 runs. You can’t do better than that!

It took my mage around 12-15 runs to get them both, despite the fact that they are listed as 47% and 50% drops in wowhead.

It sounds like you are having bad luck on several items. Do you know what is supposed to drop on these runs? I usually look that up in wowhead. But like you say, “40 percent” doesn’t guarantee anything.

i was looking for the wep that intergator tightwhitey Visha has. I wanted to take my bloody knuckles on him for the 6 pairs he gave out during my runs. No blues at on from there. I did read the average of the trash and boss was 37 percent to 40. So now my count is at least 30 times now in 5 days. We ran every instance in there multi times. the intel drops with spirit I did an eye roll.

loot drop is cyclical to make you subscribe longer.
certain pieces wont drop until X time is passed
loot drop is not random just like how the combat table is not truely random as some actions has to happen before certain other things happen(misses parries dodges before crit for example hence the stupid crit cap).

for loot drop it is time and certain classes

ever notice how some loot NEVER drops until a certain time then it start dropping like candy?
loot is also determined upon instance generation and the first person that goes in “rolls” the loot table and the loot table know when it “should” withhold certain loot for X time

the loot that is withheld tend to be key items and high value pieces

Did 17 armory runs over the last three days trying to get the axe for my Warrior. I haven’t even seen it drop yet. I suspect when it does I’ll lost the roll, so I feel your pain lol

This is literally all just speculation with no factual basis

Ah, the end result of someone who has spent so much time being handed loot by a pseudo random algorithm that they mistake true random for an algorithm.

Back in Vanilla, some dungeon items that I wanted dropped on the first or second instance run. On others, I ran them literally 50+ times to get the item to drop. It really is just an individual crap shoot, regardless of what average % WoWHead indicates using parsed data from literally thousands of runs by different players.

Yeah. In this case, the torturing poker has a reported 6.08% chance to drop.

Dude get atlas loot enhanced. Itll tell you all about loot ad drop rates.

There’s nothing really useful in SM for a rogue aside from the sword you get from one of the quests.

The only blue drop rate I want to see increased is the blues on this forum dropping updates and fixes.

It’s a good thing then that you can just get a few more levels and get a green weapon that is better than the blue weapon you were trying to get.

beginning to believe that of there is always something better as you progess in game since leveling seems to bring more choices of items and abilities. No longer longing to have a certain item. Thank you to all that brought reality into my brain.

You don’t start getting items you won’t replace til the late 40s. Pretty much all gear below lvl 45 or so except maybe 10-20 items will all be replaced with BRD/BRS/DM loot

Considering you’re running SM I’d assume you’ll be questing in STV soon, if not already. I ran SM like a fool in the 30’s and I got Tigersbane to drop a lot. It has +AP vs. beasts… Prob not a bad dagger since STV is full of beasts. Prob not expensive on AH either. Also we’re same faction/server. Hit me up if you need help/chants.

Good choice, I wouldn’t worry about gear especially during the leveling journey where items are constantly being replaced. I wouldn’t ever recommend stressing over gear in a video game but it doesn’t really start mattering until level 60 where most of the pieces you get you will end up potentially having for a long time.

What size tin foil hat are you?

it is how the game works to maximize profit

don’t be discouraged at lvl 40 dungeons, be discouraged when u reach 60 and you get Vis kag ninjad from you.
