It’s personal loot and cannot be traded. Terrible drop rate and supposedly even worse RNG for the upgrades.
I think its something like a 0.3% droprate or something dumb like that. But yes, ive been in groups with literally 20 hunters and not have 1 drop and only 1 cloak drop.
Ive done heroic Sylv in a group with like 4 hunters for 3 months and so far, weve had one bow drop. and 1 heroic cloak, 2 normal cloaks
I am more meaning, the group has 3 hunter, than a 4th joins. Does it change?
Also can the bow drop from vault?
I’ve seen this bow drop around 10 times already. I thought it must be a super high drop rate based on how many times I’ve seen it.
Pretty basic, well known, published formula:
Take the number of hunters in the raid and divide by zero.
30 percent drop rate is way too high for an iconic weapon that should only be in the hands of it’s iconic wielder.
Even if you meant 1 third of 1 percent, that is still too high. Baron Rivendare’s mount used to be a 1 in 1000 chance, so 1 in 300 for an iconic bow is pretty generous on Blizzards part given how many hunters there are in WoW!!
I have been clearing sylv for months now. My guild has seen it drop twice on heroic and twice on normal and the upgrade piece as well.
We usually have 4 hunters in our group. They all now have the bow. Mine has yet to drop.
And any number with an Avg is null because there is 16 other people who cannot receive the bow. That is why I was asking about a formula
Or you know, they could actually put some effort into making a legendary item that let us wield her bow and after a really long grind we ge to actually finish the quest by killing her and looting the bow.
But hey, let’s just shove in garbage rng and pretend it’s good game design.
well look at the % drop for the bow then x4 i guess
If it’s 10% (just picking a random round number) then it’s 10% for each hunter in the group. Whether its 1 hunter or 1000 the chance for each individual hunter is 10%. So the odds themselves don’t change. Law of large numbers would say the more chances there are for it to drop, the more likely you will see one drop. But it’s still 10% per hunter.
Change 10% to whatever the drop chance actually is.
Neither the bow nor upgrades can drop from the vault unfortunately.
I have yet to see it as well.
Having multiple Hunters in raid doesn’t increase the drop rate. If the drop rate is 0.3% then it’s still 0.3% for each hunter.
To have class (spec) only loot is what is giving me pause. I am hoping for blue post intervention.
But if there is 20 people in a raid, and 3 of them are hunters. What is the chance that it will drop?
Normally people will say .3% (like the guy up top with the mount example). Which would mean all 20 members has that chance. Which should skew the numbers because even if 1 person did get it ,19 people didn’t. Even thou in reality only 2 or 3 people did not get it (depending on spec).
So I am seeing 2 possible loot outcomes:
1 it is based on player and the rest of the raid doesn’t matter
2 its a s*** number%
Its not really that iconic, but they designed the 9.1 BM hunter around the bow. It being such a low droprate is rather silly.
Theres no formula. Its personal loot. You could have 1 hunter or 20 in the group and its droprate is on an individual basis. Same like any other loot. More or less wont increase an items chance of dropping.
the number of hunters in the group is irrelevant
The raid drop rate really kicks casual raid logging guilds right between the legs.
There is just no way to gear up effectively just raiding
you can do it. it just really sucks.
you’re also, if a heroic raider, missing out on a LOT of power by not doing at least one weekly m+ key, because you’ll only ever get 239 (or 243 i think from kt/sylv) from the raid, whereas you can snooze through a single +15 and get a guaranteed 252 item (not guaranteed to be something you need or cna use, but a guarnanteed item nonetheless)
I’ve geared most of my alts just by doing one +15 a week. it’s slow, and their gear might not be well statted, but… it’s 252 gear that was a cakewalk to get, vs the one, maybe two 239 pieces I’d get in raid.
obvs on these chars I’m not too worried about dom sockets. but I only play them to do alt +15s so… eh nbd.
