Once you use boost on down/upper stairs you come down/up flying
What actually happens is that the car looks like its pinned on the ground lmao
(Unless you boost and press spacebar which works only on downstairs)
Reduced fall damage
Dazed removed
PVP Car Crashing (it sounds funny)
Has jukebox (yes i wanna play my Music Roll: Invincible )
Drifting is kinda cool
But i think nothing beats Skyriding since D.R.I.V.E missed alot of opportunities
I find it very fun, but in serious need of fine-tuning. Your ideas are good. I’d also add the option to separate drift and jump into their own buttons.
Also, driving over minor obstacles feels like a wasted opportunity in an otherwise incredibly dense and detailed city. Tiny fence posts should not stop your car, they should be destructible with NPCs yelling at you for the property damage.
It’s a good first step into making a more interactive and engaging ground mount minigame, imho, it just needs a bit more time in the oven before it inevitably becomes a mainstay feature in some form or another.
You keep posting this but I can’t imagine Blizz spent the time and resources to develop DRIVE just to abandon it never to be seen again. You’re projecting your bias.
And being a vehicle doesn’t stop them from iterating on DRIVE and using it again in the future. They could let us use it right now in other zones.
They said in an interview it was only developed for Undermine. And it’s not attached to mounts like dynamic flying is. It’s the old Wrath vehicle spell.
It seems likely to me that it’s a blueprint for a more interactive mount system that allows Blizzard to design future maps in a less strictly flight-oriented manner, but anything’s possible.
It stands out as a parallel to Skyriding, an iteration of mounted travel that incorporates physics + control and speed abilities. I don’t see them introducing the concept of “Skyriding for the ground” and dropping it altogether, personally - even if whatever evergreen feature eventually develops from it is completely different.
LOL and? You act like Blizz doesn’t re-use new design mechanics all the time.
WTF does being a vehicle have to do with it?
Who cares that it isn’t a mount and what does it have to do with Dragon Riding?
No one is saying they’re going to make ground mounts all work this way which seems to be your fear. I’d love to see them add race tracks etc out in the world.
And I’m giving you the information we have. They didn’t design this like dynamic flying. They made a quick vehicle spell to use for a patch and didn’t have plans to attach it to mounts.
… because there’s a huge difference between a vehicle spell and abilities attached to mounts that can be used across all mounts in all places.
In order to bring this system into the rest of the world everywhere, it requires work on the terrain and on mounts to do so.
Probably because Dragon Riding has added a lot to boring old flying and they want the same kind of treatment for the times we’re grounded until flying comes out.
LOL you keep saying they can’t let us use it anywhere else because it’s a vehicle which is NOT information we have. It’s you projecting your bias.
I hope so, at least. Undermine is, hands down, the best city design Blizzard has put forward in years - it might even top Boralus for me in terms of how fun it is to explore, and how accurately it represents the race it was intended for. It’s exploding with personality everywhere you look, with so many fun details hidden away in places that would never even be considered for a flight-enabled zone.
I’m a big proponent of Skyriding, but zone size has had to radically increase as a result, which leads to less engaging ground exploration. An alternative for more compact zones like Undermine is something I really want them to look into past the funny goblin car.
I feel the same way. It’s the best new zone ever IMO. I particularly love the way vertically is created with multiple floors for the houses plus the various sewers.
There are times I feel like the Debby Downers about the zone are all just joyless.
I’m sure they do. But there would be a lot of work in order to do that and would end up with all flying locked behind Pathfinder, as is precedent for when they add something new.
But it would still be a lot of terrain work. We already had so many incidents of getting stuck or disconnected due to terrain on PTR.
I never claimed they can’t. I said it would take too much work and it absolutely is the old Wrath vehicle spell. It is information we have. Are you new to this game? Do you not understand the difference?
You seem to be conflating two different things here: fact from opinion. Learn the difference. You’re just being nonsensical at this point.
I’ve had a bunch of cool times where I absolutely nail the drifting and zoom from one place to another like I’m Skim Beeble. Those times feel great.
However, the number of times I’ve managed that pales in comparison to the number of times i’ve bumped into some small thing and gone bouncing backwards, or found myself jammed between some terrain and forced to just dismount and walk out.
LOL and if I could I’d quote one of the multiple other posts you’ve made saying the same thing but you’re hiding. /shrug
This is your bias. If you just said “I hope we never see it out of Undermine because I’m bad at it” I wouldn’t have an issue instead of speaking with such certainty like you’re a dev even though you’re just a random casual player.
Definitely the #1 problem with D.R.I.V.E. I’d like them to address. Getting clipped on tree branches during Skyriding is frustrating too, but obviously there are going to be infinitely more obstacles on the ground.
That’s not a “can’t.” It’s a “this is how it is according to Blizz interviews right now” like I told you before.
There’s nothing to hide from. That didn’t even make any sense. And you’re just trolling. Arguing simply to argue because you dislike what information you’ve been given.
No. My opinion is separate from Blizzard’s information. Learn the difference. And quit trolling. I’m not responding to your inability to comprehend things further.
