Itâs the ground version of skyriding. I know what skyriding is like. I gave skyriding a chance in DF. I canât do it. I donât expect to be able to handle the DRIVE system either. Like it or hate it, itâs simply not going to happen for me.
I feel like thatâs a yes, Jim.
Yesss!! I think this system looks amazing and as a Car enthusiast and a WoW Fan I am SOOO Stoked of the match. Canât wait.
Which could be interesting to see given that you needed flying for all cata zones minus Vashjâir at some point to progress the story.
Hyjal needed flying for the Anivana questline.
Deepholm needed flying to reach the Alliance airship, and to reach places like the Earthen town or Therazanes Throne (first time)
Uldum needed flying to reach certain areas, or to leave them during the Harrison Jones questline. Plus to reach outdoor Siamat during the intro quests.
Twilight Highlands needed flying to reach the Red Dragon town.
And you originally needed to find the entrance of the dungeon before you could queue for it, even for the random dungeon finder. Therefore the only launch dungeons one could find without flying were
Blackrock Caverns
Throne of the Tides
Halls of Origination
Grim Batol
Lost City of Tolâvir (can use the Uldum intro to find it)
So I am curious how Athernon got to level 85 without flying during Cata. Did he just mob grind his way to 85 in areas that they could reach? Assuming of course this was during launch lol.
Itâs funny that youâre trying to present this âjust give us the choiceâ argument while sidestepping the fact that a zone thatâs âground mount friendlyâ is still better for flying mounts anyway. You did at least allude to as such here:
In other words, youâre saying that flying is always âmore efficientâ than ground travel even in conditions supposedly ideal for the latter, so thereâs never any real choice. As Athcaelas said, itâs a path of least resistance thing. The best option is the only option.
