I am currently playing on Doomhowl (Hardcore) as a horde warrior and I was planning to transfer to PVE server once I die.
I was wondering if Dreamscythe had a healthy population as horde that makes it possible to grind pre-raid BiS and eventually raid.
I’m Alliance but I’ve seen plenty of Horde groups/players outside of ZF, Mara, ST so my guess is you should be fine.
It has a healthy bot population, that’s for sure.
I can’t answer the raiding/dungeon question as an Alliance player, but since this is an accelerated content cycle. I’ve seen plenty of Horde around leveling. I think the promise of TBC guarantees there will always be a Horde presence on Dreamscythe.
You’ll be fine to transfer to Dreamscythe, there are several guilds doing ony and MC, lots of ubrs for attunement, people are doing ST, Scholo, Strat (both L/D), plenty of princess farmers and BRD runs (emp runs, arena spam, attune, and angerforge) so for end-game you’ll have plenty of opportunity to get geared up and find a raid.
Edit: I do mean horde-side, my posting toon may be an ally druid, but I am also leveling horde toons (ally is really the best race for pre-bc feral druid since jow and bow make powershifting less cost-prohibitive since you’ll rely a lot less on green mana pots, and the sweatier raids means fights don’t last as long so you aren’t having to keep powershifting for 5, 10 minute slogs).
It’s booming. Tons of guild progessing through MC and Ony.
Alliance might outnumber us, but according to RaiderIO its only a 57/43 (ally favored) split. I only forsee it going up (the Horde pop) as we inch towards TBC.
Horde is all over the place in Ashenvale on DS. Leads me to think they’ve got some numbers behind them in the other zones as well.
I made a Tauren there the other day just for fun and Mulgore was filled out pretty nice.
You will be fine. Come on over and be frustrated at the over poaching of quest mobs like the rest of us!
Both sides are equally healthy with Alliance being more populated ofc - this goes without saying for a PvE server.
You won’t have any trouble doing content on either side.

Healthy…yes. Its actually overpopulated IMHO. There aren’t enough layers being generated so literally every quest mob has 6+ people trying to kill it. That’s not an exaggeration. Every quest mob. Every quest. Every zone. Every area. If you see even 3+ mobs for a quest up its either 3:30am or 3 other people are about to descend on you.
People will tell you “its not that bad!” They are lying. When I logged out today I was fighting 8+ people for Naga south of Feathermoon Stronghold, aka the butt-end of Kalimdor. Just ridiculous.

Yeah. Lots of miners and agricultural workers lost their jobs to mass automation.
