I specked for Dream of Cenarius (DoC) on an alt rdruid and my Wrath/Shred damage was way over the healing it did in Dawn- not even close and includes over healing. Anyone else try this spec and had it not work sometimes? I did it in heroic and it worked really well, but I went to mythic and it was like I didn’t even take the talent.
If they werent max or were doing timewalking or tww content before mythic 0 the dungeon scaling might have just been messing with the damage to heal ratio.
Endgame content is scaled pretty consistently but the stuff inbetween has all kinds of damage, healing, and itemlevel scalling that can cause a talent like that to be weird and they just messed with dungeon scalling again for the anniversary event.
Also if it was a random que heroic it could be double dipping from the pug buff, its 15% bonus healing, damage and health. So 15% more powerfull attacks that are being buffed another 15% when they heal making it ~30% stronger then in non-qued content.
I just did a +2 COT again and it worked fine. I’m thinking there’s a bug in dawn. Possibly going to flight form? I’ll try a dawn again soon, but I’m afraid it will be bugged again and I’ll get blasted… “Healer, you there”?? while I spam wrath for no reason. Figuring this out as I like using dps to heal, but I won’t do it on main unless there for sure isn’t a bug. I don’t mind a heroic to +2 fail, but a +9-10 fail sucks (on main).
Just had it stop working in a 10 NW after flying up to the necropolis worked fine before it tho.
yea there’s something about flight form or flying that stops it from working
It has been this way since the Talent was introduced on the Beta. I reported it on the Beta. It was never fixed.
But yes, it does not work in the Air, so it is a complete no-go in NW and Dawnbreaker.
But it’s not a big deal because you won’t be running it anyway. Blizzard fails to grasp that when you are dealing damage as healer it is because no one needs healing. So I don’t need something that does healing when I deal damage, because that’s when I need bonus healing the least. It’s just a failure talent design for a class like RDruid.
Maybe if it were not in the final talent row it might see some play, but there’s 0 chance of running it outside of an MDI setting with it in the final talent row.
Heart of the wild wrathing on a boss is quite huge, 0.5s wraths healing for 1 mil not crits each its quite powerful, almost 2 mil hps for 15 seconds every minute single target.
If you don’t want to deal damage when any healing is required, that’s your prerogative. But you’re looking at the talent incorrectly if that’s all you view it as. The idea is that you can get enough healing from Cenarius to reduce the amount of healing globals you need to cast. If the damage event requires 4 healing globals without it, and you can get by with 3 healing globals then the damage conversion can cover that missing global, that’s a better use of your globals than using that fourth healing global.
Now it’s fully possible the healing from Cenarius won’t be enough to reduce your healing global commitment in some cases, in which case it may not be worth taking. But in general, you want to be looking for opportunities to have your damage reduce the amount of standalone healing you need to do in order to keep the group alive, not view it as just bonus healing you only gain when no healing is required in the first place.
Can confirm this is still bugged. The exact thing Tantour mentioned just happened to me. I was doing Mythic NW, flew up to the Necropolis and suddenly Dream of Cenarius stopped working. I can even see in the parse where I’m spamming Wrath and it’s providing 0 healing. It worked fine before flying to the necropolis.
It’s been over a week since my last post and this just happened again. I thought I’d bump this.
