Dream Achieved- Blizzcon

So since I was about 15-16, I’ve been wanting to go to Blizzcon.

Now I can say I’ve checked that off my bucket list. It was everything I expected and more. I literally got goosebumps entering the Warcraft area. It was like walking into Azeroth and there being ten thousand other people just like you in awe.

So- Have you ever been to Blizzcon? Did you go this year? Would you ever go?

Also holy crud- that cinematic had me confused- I thought Anduin was a real actor at first. AMAZING

I’m glad you enjoyed it. I’ve never been to one, but I would consider it. I think next years might be pretty interesting.

The cinematic was great, I didn’t figure out until Thrall appeared that Anduin wasn’t a real person. We need them to get going on a mini series or something.

Very interesting. I’ve never been to a Kpop concert so it was definitely a new experience. Tho to be honest, I was hoping the concert was going to be a metal band.

That being said, those girls can dance

Did the crowd seem to enjoy them? In my head I imagined alot of confused 30-something’s with quizzical expressions.

Metal is too scary for modern audiences.

So happy for you!
I just had a great time with watching the stream, I could imagine it so much more grandiose in person.

Didn’t go to Blizzcon but not going to lie. Seeing them announced as a headliner was -almost- enough for me and my girlfriend to consider going if other finances weren’t an obstacle.

It’s a dream for me too! Australianism makes it economically prohibitive but one day I’m hoping to go, maybe with some friends I’ve made along my Azeroth journey

I didn’t go to BlizzCon this year, but I did go in 2018 and 2019 (I’m fortunate enough to live just about 30 minutes away from the Anaheim Convention Center, so travel expenses are never an issue for me). And both years were absolutely great.

Something about being in the same place as thousands of other fans and knowing that you’re all there for the same thing is really special. I’m not the type of person who goes to conventions, but I’ve been thoroughly engrossed in the Warcraft and Diablo franchises since I was 6 or 7 years old. I don’t see that ever changing.

Next year might be the year to go back. The 20th anniversary of WoW will definitely not be something to miss…

I know of a few who dipped when they saw a Kpop band but the arena was full and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. There was this one dude who was literally standing up and screaming (not singing) the songs the entire time. It was pretty hilarious

It was definitely an optics thing. They’re trying to appeal to a different demographic than previous years, especially with the Overwatch focus on the concert.

They haven’t always had metal bands. They had Weird Al one year. And then another year they had multiple bands and I ended up watching the violinist Lindsey Sterling.

I think next year they should bring in Wind Rose. They are a metal band AND they sing almost exclusively about Dwarves. That should definitely fit in with the new expansion.

This seems kind of random but Sholaad I have to say I’ve always really admired your affable demeanor and positive outlook. I’ve been on this server since it was born and you’re one of the old guard I still see around and yet you’re one of the only people I’ve never even seen tangentially related to drama. Just always a wholesome guy who never really seems to have vitriol for anything or anyone. Kind of brings up the mood of other people I think

Glad you enjoyed man

I would’ve gone nuts if it was Weird Al. I was also hoping to see Conan O’Brien there (though I knew it wasn’t gonna happen)

Truly appreciate the kind words brotha
