I’ve done this 3x now (I have the parts to spawn).
1st time - we fought for 5+ minutes and wiped
2nd time - went smooth. fought for a few minutes and it finished
3rd time - fought for 5+ minutes and wiped
I’ve kept the bell/wheel/candle up pretty much the whole time on the wipes. I understand the mechanics of it.
The interesting part is on the 2 wipes, both times we’ve run back, and the mobs vanish, and we complete the quest. No fighting necessary after the wipe.
Since I’ve done one smooth, I’m pretty sure it’s not a lack of understanding the mechanics on my part. After a few minutes of fighting and repairing the items, I spam the scroll and keep getting the message like “The summoning circle is not complete”.
The only thing I can think of is maybe the circle is expecting some of the demons to be killed, and if they are enslaved it causes an issue? About to attempt number 4 next week. Came here searching to see if anyone else had weird experiences with this quest and if I’m missing something obvious completing the circle.
Are you recharging the ritual nodes during the event? You need the Black Lodestone and a soul shard to do it. The ritual items form the summoning circle and need constant re-upping.
The Wheel and the Candle are particularly important in the imp wave phase.
You can enslave or banish the Dread Guard without worry. However, I would not try this on the other demons.
Are the nine runes spawning as you do the ritual?
Thanks for the response.
As mentioned, I do understand the mechanics and keep all 3 things up when they go down, and I’m overly aggressive about repairing them.
I did some reading and haven’t been keeping an eye on the 9 runes, but will try to locate those next time.
It’s possible my 2 wipes have been pure coincidence, and we really have been THAT close to completing, that when we run back, the mobs all get banished and we can proceed with the final 2 ‘boss’ fights.
I’ve been with very competent guild groups. They know what they are doing. Not random PUG with scrubs.
I moreso wanted to put this out there on the board for visibility. There has been no mention of it by anyone else as a potential on the bug board.
It’s hard to duplicate the issue, and most people do it once and move on. Even if they wipe but still get their dreadsteed, they probably wouldn’t waste time coming here to post of a potential bug.
So I’m moreso throwing this out there in case there’s someone like me who is doing this multiple times for guildies, and has seen weirdness with this quest.
