Dread for Midnight

Local circus keeps a loose leash, clowns running amok here I see.

Like all alliance leaders?

No Stormwind would retaliate to get their land back.

No I said that they should get better land in general.

Are a bunch of losers.

Metzen directs TWW and apart from the Goblin patch I am not impressed.

I’ll ignore whatever pedantic idiocy is going on and move back to the main topic.

My crackpot theory for Midnight is that at some point Lorthemar will realise the situation at hand: Quel’Thalas is about to be sieged by an overwhelming force of void creatures and the situation is looking pretty grim, especially considering that the void will very much try to corrupt the more important leaders, so they have some troubles to go through:

  • Main force has to have a LOT of undead, both Forsaken and Ebon Blade, because they are resilient to void corruption.
  • Commander has to also be VERY resilient to void corruption because if the main head gets corrupted, its GG.
  • Commander to this force has to be someone with experience leading the undead to know their main strengths and how to better use them.
  • Commander needs to know how to defend Quel’Thalas in an almost hopeless battle against an impossibly overwhelming enemy.

Lorthemar will look around and let out a long, drawn-out sigh because he’ll have to fish Sylvanas out of the Maw and get Tyrande/pretty much everyone to play nice. Obviously tensions will be high and we will have to deal with the revolting scene of golden boy king saying some vomit-inducing cliche on the lines of “If you don’t trust her, trust me” to the people not wanting to have Sylvie leading again.

After that the most bittersweet moment would be Sylv dying during the siege but defending Quel’Thalas successfully, thus bringing her story full circle at last. But I don’t think Blizz would do that.

Wouldn’t some of the Ebon Blade leaders be viable?

I feel like they could do as good if not better job than Sylvanas.

The DKs have no ties to Quel’thalas.

Well, Koltira Deathweaver do.
Lady Alistra.
Duchess Mynx.

Criteria we had.

Need to be undead.
Commander need to be undead.
Commander need experience with leading the undead, which undead though? Forsaken? Just undead in general - because this criteria seems null and void in many aspects, I think any undead commander could lead them.
And Sylvanas didn’t exactly win her defense of Quel’thalas, which… yeah… might not be the best option.

Oh no, I won’t get to spend eternity pretending not to like my human kennelmaster, guess I better feed millions of souls to the Superdevil to disenchant because he sounds really trustworthy when he says garble garble.

Just let the Forsaken do their thing. Don’t drag the DKs into this, because then we’ll be stuck with Bolvar whinging about Taelia all expansion.

Then Umbric and the Void Elves can swoop in and prove their worth by getting immediately Void possessed and turn into dungeon bosses. That’s the only option, sorry lads.

We’ll just risk another human-focused expansion with Turalyon leading the charge of The Army of the Light, Exodar draenei, and Blood Elf paladins.

Because the Sunwalkers and Amani Trolls will be forgotten and won’t even be considered in the coalition of light-organisations.

That’s fine. Turalyon is patriarchal old dude coded, so he’ll get very murdered real quick to make room for the competent-but-always-overlooked Lightforged Lieutenant Lady who is probably only just introduced and cuts line ahead of Fareeya or whoever.

While i like this, although i still mald over the DK’s taking shlands, we do convienitely have a DR who has recently ascended to leadership of the forsaken who also fell in quel’thalas defence and can lead them.

Well, to be fair.

We can’t have someone who was so very supportive of the patriarchal old dude take his place. It do have to be someone more radical, wild, and total opposit, even if it isn’t the most effective way to lead an army! Although it will be!

That takes time and writing chops. We’ll just have Voss show up for the quest to tell the player how amazing Lightforged Biscuit Toddler Woman is.

Just like all the War2 Orc leaders, many of the Alliance War2 Kings are dead.

Hrmn…

No, no I don’t think that’s what you said.

Stormwind didn’t exist anymore.
They were all refugees with a dead king.
The only reason the Alliance united was because the Orcs posed a clear threat to everyone because they were expanding north.

Just like those two random loser Orc NPCs you just mentioned, wild.

How nostalgic.
Crapping on Metzen.

I guess with Christie and Danuser gone he’s the next scapegoat.
