Drastically improved mobility

With dracthyr coming soon™ to additional classes there arises an interesting problem with accessibility to drastically improved mobility. An easy fix would be to introduce 2 new tinker enchants (not spark item tinker sockets) for Belt and cloak. A new belt tinker would compete with nitro boosts and would be [spring loaded step] double jump. the cloak tinker would compete with rocket glider & be [spring loaded wings] glide on jumping without a stored second jump they deploy. using both would mimic dracthyr and demon hunter movements for classes unable due to lore. I wouldn’t be against making then for non-engineers too.

Wait, what is the problem? You just jumped into offering a solution without explaining it.

Ok this is absurd. As if DHs double jump, Fel Rush, and Glide haven’t been a thing for years. Druids instant into any form for speed boosts also. Everyone doesn’t have to have everything.

This mobility arms race will have interesting implications downstream, particularly for PvP.

mobility is whatever… i can be mobile enough with my monk as is.

giving all those classes two additional aoe “interrupts” sounds a bit OP though. i guess we’ll have to see. i suspect it will be something like “no m+ invites for you if youre not a dragon”.

Dracthyr have a jump + their version of glide. Players are naturally imagining the worst possible situations with the new classes the lizards get.

the problem that I did not outright state was the arms race referenced a few post down. anyone who can race change into a dracthyr will see crazy mobility improvements. but the race isnt open to all classes so its going to be an issue. i could see this taking over pvp or pve in the high end.

They can glide. It’s not that crazy. Gliding only helps you when you’re falling.

just the glide mechanic can cancel out massive boss knockbacks, its going to be the best choice imo

We had entire guilds race change to Goblins for Kel’thuzad. This is a much bigger potential advantage than that was.

I dont think this is going to be as big of an issue as y’all think. You get extra mobility at the vost of having to play the worst race in game (bar gnomes). Seems like a fair trade: look bad = get slightly better mobility/CC.

WAIT! Before y’all rage type, normal visage is broken when using a breath attack… does that mean the classes without the 1 mechanic that forces visage break are able to stay in visage form… if so, i retract my previous.

Can it? Well that’s nifty.

[mobility arms race] would of been a much better topic title

its a glide. at most this means you save money on not having to buy goblin gliders. monks and especially demon hunters are still gonna be top mobility

As a paladin, all i have to say is, look at my horseeee my horse is amazingggg.

you can not use gliders inside of raids or dungeons last I checked.

i’d be down for this as a priest, mostly because i feel like any mech that requires actual mobility has my legs broken in 3 places.

If the “problem” is more players purchasing race changes, I don’t think devs are going to do anything about that !

They should keep it enabled until released, then nerf it into the ground so people have to purchase a race change to change back

I only ever use my improved freedom on priests, in hopes it mind controls them into giving me PI, but also to speed em up a little.
