I love the new race/class idea. I would love to see you be able to choose the option to be a Gnome Drakthyr, a Taurren, a Night Elf, or even a goblin! I think that you can have a new race but just have the “humanoid option” be open to all the other races! Just like the NPC dragons get to choose their forms, so should the players!

I disagree. They’re a creation by Neltharion. And even when he used mortal subjects, they were humans and elves, given their powerful affinity for magic.
I like Dracthyr being their own particular race, personally.

I don’t like the model. Maybe it will grow on me. I hope they add a glyph so we can play in the humanoid form like boomies.

I HATE the fact they recycled the belf form again…like Humans would have been better than another elf non dragon form.

I don’t believe so. I just hope we can play in the human form bruh. Then again, I probably won’t main Evoker anyway.
It’s probably like worgen and you transform when entering combat.

He melded dragon with the developing species around the world. Humans weren’t even around then, and the elves we see are anachronistic.
I’m totally OK with them being their own race, but if you’re going to include a worgen-esque “two forms” then it needs to either be accurate (no humans, no thallasian elves), or it needs to be free-for-all.
I don’t really see the point in defending the lore when you’re not even being consistent. Thallia, I like you, but you’re not always seeing the whole picture, from where I’m sitting, or you know something I don’t.

Dragons can choose thier form
I think they’re running out of dev resource, there’s so many reskin in this game, but reskinning one of the main expansion selling point is just way too cheap.
My friend said the humanoid form looks like someone just throw a rainbow paint at them and then slap some draenei horn on top of it.
If they don’t allow female elves to be a model option, and lock them to female humans your going to see the forums explode. Ditto for male humans. I’ll prepare the fire-proof bunkers for when that news releases.

I agree 100%. Players should be able to choose their humanoid form just like other dragons such as Chromie. Just another Blizzard fail. Huge disappointment.

From what I am seeing, and I encourage Blizzard to come out and say otherwise if inaccurate, it appears Male Drakthyr will use the Blood Elf model, and female Drakthyr the female human model.
So that would seem to indicate there will be no male human disguise, or female elf disguise. This is in turn going to be a big problem to a lot of people I think unless altered, and I think it’s going to be like the whole High Elves playable thing. Repeatedly ranted about till the cows come home.
Won’t affect me trying the class, but may affect others.

That’s for when he did, which was just prior to and during Cata. I never said he did back then. Because we still don’t know the lore for the Dracthyr to know what they are or when exactly they were created.

I agree. It’s why I’m hoping that those are just placeholders and we’ll see them become more unique models using those rigs.
It’s weird you can’t make a character like Ebonhorn, Nozdormu, Chromie, or Ysera etc…there should really be visage options including all the races.
I don’t think it’s weird. These aren’t Aspects, they’re a Neltharion experiment. They are their own race.
Still sucks. More customization is always good.
They should have been young dragons instead of some experiment.
