Drakkari Wolvar

The Drakkari are (for) now canonical dead. Well there is one last left and I say give him some Frostmane, or Winterax females to rebuild the tribe. Going on to my two real points.

Do we know what happened with the Wolvar of Zul’Drakk? Did they survive? (I know there were others, that’s why I specify for Zul’Drakk). If so how? Because the player saved them and slaughtered their old allies?

Is it known when those two people allied themselves? Or how this came to be? It’s interesting that the Drakkari of all Trolls accepted the Wolvar in their territory and had a bond of friendship with them.

Such friendships, or relationships Trolls had at times with different races are often overlooked.

I think Shadowlands would be a good time to give a spotlight again to the Drakkari and also to the Darktrolls of the Shadowtooth Clan (which sounds like a name given from a person that knows nothing about Trolls. Trolls named their groups always as tribes until BfA) to let us see the story from their perspective and to give a voice to the dead.

I wouldn’t say canonically dead dead. During the island adventures we see survivors invading islands or living on them, but these guys go by a different name. So are they extinct? As a organization yes. Some still exist and should they somehow come together under the banner of Drakkari they can and maybe one day retake Zul’Drak.

I would assume that the Wolvar and any living in Zul’Drak would be dead or have since abandoned that area of Northrend.

The isle expedition Trolls are really interesting indeed. They have names we never saw before (or after). So what exactly are they? No idea, but I would like to know.
Even if one of those groups are Ice Trolls, that’s not necessarily the same thing as Drakkari. They could potentially be a splinter group from them tough.
Like the Frostmanes and Winteraxe. They aren’t Drakkari, but they are Ice Trolls.

You could be right about the Wolvar in Zul’Drakk. Even though we helped them and the Argent Crusade was near. It was a dark situation, so it’s hard to say without more information.

I think from the quotes and just the npc looks and drops. We can infer they are Drakkari survivors, but elect a new name for themselves. The wolvar of Zul’Drak are likely absorbed into the ones in Scholozar basin or Dragonblight. Remember all the orphans there? I think that should be the implication we should go with for these creatures. Honestly, I don’t think much of anything good came out of Zul’Drak other than tragedies and needless suffering.
