Are drakes teenage dragons? Do they go to high school together?
it’s the amount of legs with wings. Dragons have 4 legs 2 wings and drakes have 2 wings 2 legs.

I’ve always interpreted drakes as non-sapient (animal intelligence) dragon-shaped dragon-kin.
I think there are some counter-examples out there that would prove me wrong, but I can’t think of them off the top of my head.
Blizzard can’t even decide it themselves, considering how many inconsistencies DF has around writing about them

I am fairly certain that drakes are an adolescent to young adult stage of the Dragon lifecycle.
What do you think Algeth’ar Academy is? It’s not there to train humans or those titan statue constructs. It’s a school for dragons. They even have a sports team.
Drakes and dragons are the same, now proto-drakes on other hand are ancestors of drakes/dragons.
