Yup mine was either a world boss, or more likely a time rift I had to complete for Pathfinder.

I think crests won as reward by the campaign quests and other special events are counted off the cap. Before upgrading stuff I had 140 whelpling crests while cap is 90/90 for the week.

Events that might reward drake crests:

Suffusion camp boss (the drake that comes after the bar fills 100%)
Niffen weekly quest bag (1500 rep turn in)
Time rift weekly
Researchers on fire ?

I don’t remember if the obsidian fortress, cooking soup and the first great hunt of the week rewards them, but I don’t think so.

sucks that theres a cap, ive been at 90/90 since day 1 because of the emerald bounty farming. and now im almost capped at the whelp one

So you just went 0-90 straight through seed farms?

people dont read their quests :slight_smile: especially rushers.
There are 1-2 weekly quests that give crests where it specifcally says “doesn’t count against weekly cap”

I’ve had a harder time finding whelps than drakes which sucks because a lot of the gear I’m getting needs whelps to get past the first upgrade tier I need. I know I’ll hit the ground running in season 3 next week anyway but for now I hate having stuff that could in theory be upgraded, but… and I don’t wanna lose drake ones for whelps if there is the exhange this patch

well I did get roughly 3-5 per bounty, plus the quests and weekly’s so yeah the bounty was the main one. its not hard when you farm them. And when they cap they then start giving you 2-4 of the lower one. so yeah

Thanks for the info. I stopped getting drakes for over 15 bounties. Did you have dry spell like that as well or was it very consistent? I got 1-2 never saw above 2 per seed.

Mine stopped at 36 and the wq which gives 15 didnt even reward me.

I am also going through a period where I can’t get any crests to drop. I farmed about 30 Drake Crests from blooms and haven’t been able to get any from the past 10 blooms I’ve done… just 10 rep and flightstones :frowning: idk how other people are already capped on both crests?? Wth blizzard

It’s probably that crests awarded by quests don’t count as drops.

Thanks so much for this info. I got to exactly where you were where I noticed Im getting like nothing even from maxed out high rarity seeds. Nowhere does blizzard tell you you’re wasting your resources and time. Really really bad in-game info on their part.
A refund of at least some dewdrops and an epic seed or two would be appreciated, even if I’ll never get that wasted time back.
