Drain Life needs a cooldown

As title says, Drain Life needs a 20 second cooldown at the very least…

One kick is never enough, as they can just fear + drain life, or drain life after the school block.

Only way for Drain Life to work is if kicks/Pummels, etc, didnt have a cooldown, but they do…

What is your problem with drain life exactly?

unless u play TSG rn in pvp aff warlock is nigh unkillable

No, it doesn’t. It doesn’t heal for anything besides a 30+ stack of Drain Life under ID. Literally heals for hardly anything before then. My Drain Life, at 0 stacks, heals for 700 health per second. 700 HP/second at 0 stacks. As long as you kick it under the ID stacks, you’re fine, they won’t heal for anything.

It’s not unkillable. It can easily be killed, people just need to learn how/when to deal with it and then it’s very easily dealt with.

If you shut down the 50 stack ID, because they won’t use Drain Life until 50 stacks for mega burst, and if you do NOT stack together within 10 yards of each other, you don’t see ultra mega burst+ultra mega heals. Just stop stacking together when fighting against Aff.

I know I know people are gonna be like “but you can’t not stack.” You can, you, yourselves, just can’t do it. Once you learn how to stay seperated, you will be fine. Aff doesn’t deal ultra mega damage until you stack, they then cast their Soul Rot, hit all 3 of you and once that DoT is on all 3 of you it doesn’t matter at that point whether you stack or seperate. It hits targets with Soul Rot, so don’t get hit with Soul Rot and you’re fine.

Kick the 50 stack Drain Life spam, CC the Warlock if you can’t kick them. During Unending Resolve they cannot be kicked, but they can be Stunned, Disoriented, Blinded and all other manners of CC.

As a Priest pick your Shining Force Talent and hit them with Blinding Force, knock them back during Drain Life and you stop it. It’s literally that easy. Mind Control them to stop it, too, or run over and Psychic Scream. There’s multiple CCs you could do, yet nobody ever does them. They panic because they don’t know how to deal with it.

This is because, for 8 seasons now, in BFA and in SLands, Affliction has been bad. It’s not been a shining star like it is right now. It never had the spotlight on them before like they do now in this season. This season Affliction has become strong and all of a sudden it needs to be nerfed.

You just need to learn how to play against the spec.

Im not even talking about my 1v1 expirience, i usually in BGs do try to fear them etc when im disc, and with shadow i just thoughtsteal and then fear them.

But the thing is that its still OP… dont even get me started on Epic BGs

Again, it’s very very very very niche and only this way at a very very very very very specific time and it’s still very easily countered. You guys just need to counter it.

CC, Interrupt the cast. The moment you see Soul Rot being casted you know what’s coming next. It’s that 50 stack Drain Life incoming, get your CC ready. Get close enough to MC the Warlock and bring them into your group if you’re in BGs/Epic BGs/RBGs. The moment you do, they die. They’re squishy af so if you got melee around you then bring them to your melee under MC and they’ll die.

Wait until people realize aff locks will have 15 sec soul rot cooldown in DF.

It’s 40 second SR CD, as of this moment and that’s, again, spending a lot of points into it. Yes, for PvP it could be ridiculous but I don’t think most people will be taking that. I think most people will be buffing the DoTs up a lot over taking 40 second SR 50 stack ID. They will be actually playing the rot style spec.

But who knows, every class is getting something that’s cool builds.

Where are you getting 40 sec cooldown from? If you have 3 UA’s ticking you essentially reduce cooldown by 4 seconds every 1 second assuming you put 2 points into the talent. I would only put 1 point into it to get the other rot stuff but even that that allows for me to have a 24 second cooldown soul rot assuming 100% UA uptime which obviously is easier said than done, but it wont be hard to at least keep it around 35 sec between each available cast.

That’s fair, actually I did forget about the 3 UAs up PvP talent Aff has 100% of the time. So yeah, it will be around 15-30 seconds or so.

However, when you look at the general tree you have to be very very picky with PvP building. If you take all of the Drain Life talents, which you would for that build, you sacrifice quite a bit of general talents that are quite useful.

You only really would pick up accrued and claw. The others are mostly just cheesing 1v1 duels. I would opt out of the shadowfury talents as well since I don’t think a casted 3 sec stun is all that great when your main job is going to be rotting not bursting anymore as well.

AoE stun is always nice, plus it gives access to ShadowFlame, a 70% AoE slow for 6 seconds is quite powerful.

Ehhh, they buff the Drain Life build up more. That’s what I was meaning, if you go full Drain Life build for ID, then you pick up those other talents to help buff it even more.

Even without picking those up, though, you still end up sacrificing quite a bit of nice talents. You can’t really get all 3 capstones and swapping over from Claw to SoulBurn cause it’s very nice, it is still quite a commitment cost.

If you’re not taking GoSac you need Soul Link and it’s 2 pointer cost below it to help spread damage out.

Drain life sucks I never use it in pvp as a destro or demo player in pvp or pve. Maybe it’s good for aff but I don’t play aff because aff is trash in pvp imo since all you need is a healer or to be a healer and just cc then use dispel on dots. Bam all my resources gone and what did I do to you tickle you?

nope, it doesnt. go troll some where else!

my friend you don’t know the mechanics of drain life. first it spends a lot of mana the use of 4 makes the lock run out of mana, second it is exactly the same as the monk’s vivify and sp’s shadow relief are spells that heal but with fast mana consumption.

One kick on a affy lock prevents them from doing anything since they’re locked out of their entire school. So no they cannot fear if they’re kicked on drain life or vice versa. Locks are easily killed if you know when and how to punish them.
